Today I did better for dance than I did last week. I got most of the moves correct. Now just need to put it to practice. Hehe..

I went on a speed shopping earlier. Placed an order for a hard disk at 9.15pm and collected it at 10.30pm. Fast right?

Shopping is really going digital. Actually it already has gone digital. Just that at the present moment not many people are into this style. Still, I foresee more people shopping online. But the demographics will surprise you. Most likely there will be more guys shopping online than gals. Hehe...

Over the weekends, I deprived my body of proper rest. Today, my body strikes back.

It started off with a sudden early morning rise. I woke up around 7.30am and couldn't get back to sleep. So I did some online surfing before I started to feel sleepy again, around 10am. The plan was to grab a bit of winks before waking up again and heading down to school for lessons. That plan went up in dream when I couldn't get my eyes to stay open beyond 1 min when I got a call from Weiyang asking if I'm coming down to school. I told him I'll be down during break time. But after putting down the phone, my body automatically shutdown. Sorry for all the trouble Weiyang.

I finally got up and about around 3pm and headed down to Orchard for some business matters. It's quite surprising that Orchard is bustling with people at this time of the day, especially on a weekday. But then again, shopping knows no boundaries.

After settling the business, I headed for work at Yishun SAFRA. Tonight's weather had been really good, yet the crowd was absent. There were only about 10 climbers, a surprisingly low turnout. I suppose people were recovering from their trips over the long weekends. Wonder when I'll go for my holiday trip.

Selamat Hari Raya Haji!

Woke up early today for the customary prayers before heading down to my grandmother's place for a family gathering. Not all of my relatives were there. Still, it felt really good being at my grandmother's place with my family and relatives. I suppose family bonding is the reason for the feeling good.

In the evening went to pick up Radiah at her place and Weiyang at Dhoby Ghaut MRT before heading down to The Gallery Hotel for the SRC Dinner & Dance. This event is the highlight of the SRC (Student Representative Council) working calendar as it marks the end of a working year and the start of the working term for a new set of Ex-Cos. To me it's just an event to dress up and have fun. =P

Everyone looked like they were dressed to kill. This gave way to plenty of photo-takings. The mood was that of celebrations and nostalgia. Just over a year ago I was handing my post as an Ex-Co over to my juniors. Now they're handing their post over to their juniors. How time flies.

Kudos to the Geoffrey and the his organizing committee. The event had been well-planned and wonderfully executed. It was enjoyable from start to end. Even the food was good. My only complain is that I didn't win a prize. =P But that's just my luck. Haha...

After the Dinner & Dance, some of us proceed to spend the night clubbing. We headed off to Double O and danced the night away. It was my first clubbing for this year, and it sure was an enjoyable one. As I walked along Mohamed Sultan, it felt like taking a trip down memory lane. I recalled my clubbing days where I would hop from club to club with my kakis, drinking and dancing the night away, watching people puking their guts out and sprawling on the floor. As if to answer trip, I bumped into my former kakis, Wendy and Jacq, at Double O itself. Didn't really got to catch up with them as it was closing time. I get the feeling when we do catch up again it'll be at a club. I wonder why...

Anyway, many thanks to Sean for the lift home!

Whilst my body felt quite tired, my will to climb did not falter. Thus I found myself making my way down to NUS, despite yesterday's workout.

There were lots of people in the climbing gym today, yet few familiar faces. I did my usual warm up, before looking around for climbing problems to work on. Halfway thru a problem, Wilson invited me to try out an endurance problem. The problem was quite a thriller.

There were 30 moves to do, and the problem was hard as a whole. I had to do it in parts. Even that was challenging, as the holds were small. Eventually I had to stop midway due to my aching fingers! Tried a few more problems after that before I headed for supper with the rest of the climbers.

It had been quite an intensive session. Yet I enjoy it till the end.

It's strange. I woke up at 7.15am today and I couldn't go back to sleep. Despite the fact that I had slept at around 4.45am. So what else can I do? I tidy up my room of course. It's still incomplete as of now, but it does looks neater.

On Perfect 10 today, during the Morning Madness program, the DJs were asking the audience their views on a hypothetical question. Some scientist had predicted that by the year 2020, women would outnumber men by 4 to 1. The DJs question was, if the Government passed a law allowing men to marry 2 women, would women be willing to share their husbands? A poll was conducted on both the men and women. The results showed that 89% of the women were against the sharing of husbands. 51% of the men were against the sharing of the marriage of 2 women. The conclusion by the DJs: 51% of the men who responded to the poll were liars.

Personally I'm rooting for the idea of having 2 wives. ;)

Meanwhile, let me share with you on the Return Of The Wallet. Recently I started to use a wallet after not using one for more than a year. On 2nd August 2003, I lost my wallet. It was precious to me. Ever since then I had not used a wallet. I had used a small handphone pouch as a 'sort-of' wallet, to hold my money and cards. It was pretty convenient actually. Unconventional, yet practical. The pouch forced me to minimize the cards I carry, and access to cash and coins was rather fast. Well, last Christmas during Knight's Xmas Gathering, I received an Ocean's Pacific wallet during the gift exchange. The gift was from Gabriel. I only started using it some time last week. Exactly when, I can't remember though. The wallet is bulkier than the pouch. I'm still trying to get used to using it. Give me some time. I still miss my old wallet, the one that I lost. =(

By the end of the month, I'll be getting a new phone. Most likely it will be a Nokia 6230, though I might consider getting a Nokia 3230. Hopefully the 3230 comes out soon. To be honest I had been eye the Nokia 7710 for quite some time now. However, heard some not so good news about that phone. Thus, have to abandon that phone. Boys and their toys.

That's it for now. Time to get ready for school.

I took a nap in the bus and missed my stop! The bus almost reached Bukit Batok Interchange when I woke up and alighted. Thereafter I was awake all the way to school.

Finally I attended my first lesson for the year. It was good seeing the surprised look on some of my classmates. Haha... other than that the lesson was same: boring. Once school ended I hanged around for awhile with Radiah and Rizal to catch up with them. After that I met up with Huihui to settle some business matters before heading down for dance. Again, I was late for dance.

Today at dance class I got my first taste of Street Jazz. If I understood properly, Street Jazz is a fusion of Hip Hop and Jazz. So what you'll get is the energetic moves of Hip Hop blended with the style of Jazz. The stretching was a killer! I had to stretch myself from head to toe, and that was just the beginning. As I had missed the first lesson, there was a lot of basics that I don't know. While the class was going along smoothly I was struggling to catch up and dancing like I had two left feet. Guess I really need more practice.

Once class ended, I got home, rested for a bit before heading for some climbs at Yishun SAFRA. All of a sudden I had the urge to go climbing. Even till now I don't know why I had wanted to go climbing, despite feeling sleepy and tired. Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself, practicing my 'Flash Climbing' method. I barely made it home as my body was complaining from the whole day of activities.

I woke up for a while at 7am today. I had slept through the night and was asleep for a whopping 12 hours. Even after that short wake up, I was back to dreamland again. Thereafter I got up at around 1145am and got myself readied for school. Time to go for the first lesson of the year.

Why do I go school? For lectures or to make myself feel better? - Claris asked me that on MSN. I told her it was a bit of both, plus to meet up with my friends.

Then you go to school to socialize? - Claris asked me that too. I've to agree with her on that. School is, after all, a big social ground.

Well, exams are coming up. Time to hit the notes, real fast and really hard.

I attended a wake today. My 2nd time in attending a wake. Kang Nian's father had passed away. I got news of it from Yvonne.

Whilst I do not know Kang Nian's father at all, I attended the wake. It is the least I can do to show support to a friend who suffered a great loss.

Interestingly, the wake provided my friends from SRJC ODAC a chance to meet up. The first time we're meeting up with almost everyone present. I hope we don't have to attend another wake just to meet up again.

After staying up all Saturday night playing, I headed home in the morning. Had a quick shower, change and breakfast before I went to work in Yishun SAFRA.

It was especially crowded today in SAFRA, for both the morning and afternoon session. Not surprising, since not everyone is able to climb during the weekdays, be it due to work or school. It felt refreshing to see lots of familiar faces.

Still, I felt quite tired whilst at work. The lack of sleep was getting to me. It became so strong that I was struggling to keep awake while talking to people! Imagine yourself about to fall asleep and struggling not to do so while talking.

Luckily time past by fast. The next thing I knew I was racing home to my bed. Once I arrived at home, did a few minor errands before I pulled myself over to the bed. I feel asleep at 7pm.

"Next please"

This phrase was greeted by me with mixed feelings. On one side, I felt happy to hear this phrase. It means that my waiting time is finally over. On the other side, I felt pain. Pain as it means there's going to be a big hole in my pocket.

Today I woke up especially early in the morning to drag myself to RELC to pay my exam fees. The fees are close to $2,000. Money that I have earned with my own blood and sweat. The queue was quite long, since today was the last day. However there was a distinct efficiency in the payment process. Perhaps the staff on duty anticipated the big crowd. I had expected to be there for at least 3 hours. I left after 1hr.

After that I headed down to Far East Plaza to grab lunch before going down to Suntec City Courts to work. Today will be my final day working there as an Intel demonstrator. The contract had been cut short by Intel due to low response. The low response was evident especially today. My colleague and I only managed to do 4 demos. A record low since the project started.

After work I headed home before going on to Ben's place late in the evening. The climbers were gathering there for an all night of fun and games. I brought along my PS2 for the entertainment. In total there was 2 PS2 sets! KC had brought along his PS2 as well. 2 PS2. A bundle of gaming. A night of possibilities. What more can you ask for? Oh yes, there was also mahjong!

KC brought along his new game, Naruto 2. It's a fighting and adventure game based on the popular anime series, Naruto. I've yet to watch the anime, but playing the game was very, very fun! The commands were easy to pick up, and the characters were interesting to explore. I'm already planning to get my own Naruto 2 game. =D

After staying up all night playing, I headed home in the morning....

The view of life that I'm about to share with you came to me on the 8th of January this year. Hopefully it offers you some enlightenment as it did for me.

The world that we live in and the universe that we are part of is billions of years old and spans billions upon billions upon billions of kilometers of space. In comparison, we occupy a very tiny atom of that space. Our lifetime, on average, is about 70-80years. Again, in comparison to the age of the universe, it's like less than a second. Thus from the time of our birth till the time of our death, our existence won't have really mattered or affect the universe.

Hence, if our presence does not affect the universe at large since our time here is relatively short, where does that leave us? In other words, why are we here? What is our purpose? Why do we strive to survive when eventually, we die? Such questions have been embedded in our subconscious, and continue to be with us till we get some answers till we found some form of disclosure. Some of us carry those questions till death.

Now I don't offer the answers. I'm merely sharing a perspective of life. Perhaps, through this perspective, the answers will reveal themselves.

Since our time here is going to be for a while, what we can do is make most of it and make good of it to the best of our abilities. Find contentment at a simple level in our lives. Spread the joy and happiness to the people around us and beyond. Enjoy life as much as we can. Give without expecting any returns. You see, we may not be great to change the world or the universe. However, we are great in the sense that our actions affect those around us. We are the universe, we are world, to the people that care for us. Even if they don't care for us, that shouldn't prevent us from caring for others. We are no different from each other. In the nature sense, we are all human beings.

Sounds positive and optimistic, doesn't it?

But why shouldn't one be optimistic about life? Life is a joy by itself. That's why we always feel good about birth and feel indescribable loss upon death. Since we're going to spend such a short time here living in this world, enjoy the time to the best of our abilities. For who knows, tomorrow, we'll be gone.

I think today my computer was asking me for the day off.

I kept getting disconnected on MSN Messenger. It was getting pretty... well... frustrating. Especially when I'm in a middle of good chats. After a good kick, everything finally went fine. But that was after about 30mins of setback. Bummer. I hate downtime.

Well, when I'm back on the net, KC shared with me a very interesting website. It's a simple game which got pretty addictive. The game is about tossing paper into a bin. The tricky part comes from the wind. Sounds confusing? Take a look at it here. My highest score is 16 so far. Trying to beat KC's score of 22. Hehe...

Thereafter, KC shared with me another website. This one will amuse you. It's an MTV (sort of) of a guy singing to his mp3, with some very wacky expressions. Check it out here.

Lastly, well, Weiyang shared with me a personality testing website. It's about animals and colours. Similar to the many ones you can find on the net. I took the test here. My results are:

You are Black Monkey, whose character is cheerful, amiable and simple.
You possess both smartness and gracefulness.
Your appearance is youthful, and no matter how old you get, you will always have a young heart.
You don't worry much about someone being late with appointment, or your subordinates making mistakes.
Nevertheless, you tend to be proud, so when you face troubles that hurt your dignity, you suffer a great shock.
You tend to be rather faddish.
Even if you are talking with someone you don't like, you can show smile on your face, and actually inside, you are being hard on your preferences.
You hate to lose.
You put in great effort not to get behind others.
You have a tendency to show yourself big, by saying that you know things, even if really, you don't.
In the atmosphere where you can relax, you show great natural sense of humor, and amiableness.
You have a huge dream, and will work hard to make that come true.
You will not get in a rush, and will follow your own pace.
You are good at handling numbers.
You can persuade other by using data, and therefore, you tend to have a bottom-line thinking even in private matters.
You are not good at reading deeper thoughts.
If you can overcome this weakness, you will have far greater chance of success.

The analysis is true to a certain degree.

Well that's it for now, I'm logging off.

I did it.

I completed my quest.

At 5.02am, I finished reading Dan Brown’s ‘The Da Vinci Code’.

All within two days. Some say that was pretty quick to finish the book. Well, when you have a good book, you’ll want to spend as much time as possible reading it. I’ve to agree with Kuai Yee. The book is quite a page-turner. I’ll recommend it to anyone who’s into thriller and adventure books. Now, what shall I read next?

The answer to that question comes immediately after the question was read fully in mind. Obviously, I should be delving into my school notes, in preparation for my exams. Prior to my final year exams, there are the mock exams conducted by the school. However, I will make myself absent for the mock exams simply because firstly, I am unprepared for it and secondly, I find it a waste of time.

The mock exams successfully simulate the environment for of the real exams. However, it stops short of providing a proper ‘feel’ of the questions for the topics. What I meant is that, you may expect the questions in the mock exams to be possibly similar to the actual exams, in terms of scope and topic. Alas, this is not so. The questions in the actual exams can differ entirely. Hence, frustration may sink in but it will be too late.

Another bad effect of mock exams is that they drain your motivation substantially, especially for the uninitiated. A couple of friends found themselves unmotivated in preparing for the actual exams after taking the mock exams. They apparently had given their best for the mock, thus found themselves a bit drained for the actual exams. Hence, they weren’t in tip-top form when the time comes for the real deal.

Of course, this is just my view of the mock exams. For my friends in the first year, I would advise you to go for at least 1 paper. So that you will know what you're be facing during the actual exams. ;)

In mean time I will have to sit down and find my time to read my notes.

I missed dance class today. First time since I started going for dance class. I missed it for a good reason. I was still on my quest! Hahaha...

Hey, the book is really interesting as you delve deeper into the chapters. I continued reading it moments after I had my brunch, which was after waking up at around noon.

Eventually I had to get change and get ready. Today me and the rest of Entes will be meeting up to celebrate Diana's birthday! Haven't seen everyone from Entes since the year started. Woah....

I met up with Larry, Desmond, Shan Ying, Weiyang, Gail, Amy and Diana at City Hall MRT. However, they left without me as I was meeting up with Zonghao before rejoining them.

I rejoined the group at Bobby Rubino's at Chijmes. Kervin and Casey was present when I got there. Their food had just arrived so I quickly made my order for my dinner. Throughout dinner there was a lot of joking around and catching up. Casey had injured his right wrist so there was plenty of funny stories on how he injured his wrist. Thereafter the birthday girl went around taking pictures with everyone.

Diana & me

Soon, dinner was over and the cake came. There was a whopping 22 candles on the cake! Diana was very happy to the cake. I was pleasantly surprised. Never seen so many candles on a cake before. Haha... Then we sang and had photo-taking before having cake. Kervin shared with us something interesting too. In the restaurant, there were three group of diners, including us. Interestingly, the other 2 groups of people were also celebrating their friend's birthday there! It didn't really occur to most of us till it was pointed out.

The cake has arrived. No, the lights of the restaurant didn't go off.

Make a wish birthday girl!

All come together now

After dinner we proceed to Esplanade to chill. Some experiences of Pulau Ubin was being shared. Then, on cue, someone said that Pulau Ubin is not haunted (I can't remember who said it). Now that was something which I disagreed to. And that's when I shared with the group of my knowledge of that island.

A view of Fullerton, from Esplanade, at night

I told them that I know of 2 stories about the place. The first story was what I heard of, the 2nd story was shared with me by my friend from his own personal experience. Both were quite scary. However, surprisingly even to myself, I didn't share with them my own experience in Pulau Ubin. My own encounter with the spiritual kind.

Missed school today. I was up all night, slept little too. Took a nap before heading out to work at Yishun SAFRA.

Anyway today at work I started on a quest. A very interesting quest indeed. That quest kept me awake till around 4am I think. I wasn't sure what time I slept, as I lost all sense of time when I was on that quest. But knowing that my body will get tired at around 4am - 5am, I only presumed I slept at that time.

My quest?

Reading Dan Brown's 'The Da Vin Ci Code'.

First, a few jokes about children. Quite funny. Enjoy.

Today I met up with Yvonne in the evening, after work. I knocked off at 7pm and we were supposed to meet up at 9pm. With so much time to kill, I decided to head to Sim Lim after having dinner. However, when I got to Sim Lim (walked all the way there from Suntec), almost all the shops were closed. Damned. Wanted to check out prices of some computer stuffs. Guess I've to do that another day.

I then headed to Bugis Junction and walked around. When it was close to 9pm, Yvonne sms-ed me to inform me that she'll be a bit late. I was cool with it and proceed to Brecko, the place where we were supposed to meet.

I got there and settled down and waited. I sat on a cushioned seat near the entrance, so at least I can do some people-watching. Time went by and another sms came; same message, she will be late. That was around 930pm. So I waited. And waited. And feel asleep, right there on the seat. At full view of whoever was passing by the place at that time.

I woke up with a start and looked at time. It was 1015pm. Yvonne still has not arrive. So I played the games on my phone. It's time like these that I appreciate my phones even more. There were plenty of games on both phones to keep me entertain and kill my boredom. It also relaxes me a bit, and takes my mind off things. Eventually Yvonne arrived, armed with apologies. While it was highly unusual of her to be so late, she did tell me why she was going to be late. So I told her not to worry.

Thereafter we sat and chat and caught up with each other. She was feeling down over some personal matters. I was there to lend a listening ear and offer advice and comfort to a friend. As we shared stuffs with each other, the world passed by us, oblivious to us. We had known each other for close to 8 years now. Yet we never ceased to surprise each other, on occasions when we meet up. Still, such surprises were always pleasant. I guess that's how our friendship is. Close and full of surprises.

Soon, the moment came for us to part. Whenever that moment arrive, it always seem hard somehow. Well, good friends never really part. They're always in touch. And I may not be around all the time, but I'll be there when you need a friend. ;)

This day is finally here. I've been looking forward to this day since 2nd January. Had been feeling very excited throughout the whole week, waiting for this day to arrive. To you, this might be just another Friday. To me, this is the day when I travel back in time (in a way).

Today is the day that I finally meet up with some friends whom I've never met up with for 12 years now. These are my friends who were from the same primary school. Back then, the only means of contact was through telephone or mailing. I didn't get in touch with them either way. Oh, there was 1 or 2 that I contacted, but only for a while. After that, we lost touch.

Thanks to technology, and more importantly, thanks to Friendster, I was able to find get in touch with my friends. Just before 2004 ended, I found a Friendster account of my primary school. I was surprised that the account existed, since my primary school ceased operations somewhere in 1995. 3 days after I got myself added to that account, an old friend 'found' me. Thanks a lot Kylie! Had it not been for you, we won't have met up today. I'm deeply in gratitude to you for making today possible. =D

After work in SAFRA, I rushed home to change and rushed down to meet up with Kylie and the rest at Plaza Singapura. When I got there, I joined Kylie and Emily in the queue. The rest were going to be late it seems. Anyway, we waited in the queue for about an hour as it was hard to get a table for 9 people in Cafe Cartel, especially on weekends. Whilst waiting, we chat and catch up as much as we could.

When we finally got seated, the rest arrived, one by one, to join us. Florence, Jeremy, Wenbin and Lynn joined in the chit chat, joking around and catching up! Haha... it felt really good, meeting up with them. Most of them still look almost the same as they were in primary school. However, it seems that we were still the same fun-loving bunch of friends that I remember. In a way, it almost felt like we never really parted.

After dinner, we continued our catching up session at Mr Bean's. Lay Kiang joined us there. Now, he's the only one who has changed in appearance. Perhaps it's because he's a married man now? Still, his distinctive character is still there. We sat there, reminiscing the good old days, sharing with each other on friends who weren't there and generally having a good time. Sadly, all good times had to come to an end. The time came for us to make our way home. Good thing we brought cameras! Haha.. there was plenty of cameras, so we took quite a number of pictures! Actually it's more of the same pictures taken many times on different cameras!

Jeremy & me. Jeremy sat with me in front of the class cause we were short.

The guys (Lay Kiang, Wenbin, me, Jeremy)

The gals (Lynn, Kylie, Florence, Emily)

The gang!

I took the train back together with Kylie. We shared as nuch as we could before we parted. As I thought about tonight's event, I simply smiled all the way home. Even walking in the rain didn't dampen my spirits. Hope to meet up with them and the rest soon! Meanwhile, thank you Kylie for making tonight possible!

The human body capacity to endure and adapt never cease to amaze me. Looks like there's more to our bodies than we are ever aware of.

I did not sleep yesterday. I couldn't sleep. Even though I had been climbing. Even though I lied down on the bed. I just couldn't get to sleep.

And so, without sleep, I went off to work. I was out of the house pretty early, at 6am, to head to the MOE (Ministry of Education) Campsite at Labrador Park. Today I will be belaying some secondary school students at the high elements.

The belaying was fine initially. However, as the day went on, I got more and more sleepy. Lucky for me, the sun wasn't showing it's full power. There was plenty of clouds and wind to keep me cool. It did make me even sleepier. Luckily the students were fun to be with. Most of them were friendly, so it was easy to chit chat with them to make the activity more enjoyable and to keep me alive and awake. =P

After the belaying was done, I made my way down to Orchard. Karen was heading to Orchard as well. Since both of us were in a rush, we shared a cab together. After boarding the cab, I felt like strangling the driver.

Simply put, he was a moron. When Karen and I boarded the cab, we asked him to take us down to Orchard. He asked by which way. Since we were in a rush, and weren't familiar with the roads, I told him to go down the fastest way. His reply shocked Karen and I. He said,' That's not exactly the answer I was looking for.'

I mean, what am I supposed to do? Guide him? Might as well I ask him to let me drive, and then he'll be one to pay me for the ride. He then suggested that we go either by Alexandra or ECP. I told him just go by whichever way is the fastest. Again, he asked me to choose the road. Karen then suggested going through a different road and he told her that was the long way. I was thinking," Hey, look here moron, if you know that there's a long way there, then you definitely know which is the shorter way there, right?"

Evidently, that driver was starting to piss me off. Even Karen was getting pissed off as well. Luckily we got to an area where Karen and I was more familiar with the roads. We then directed him to Orchard. I was glad to have left the cab. My only regret was that I did not take down the cab number and the driver's name. It didn't occur to me to do so. With his particulars, I'll definitely lodge a complain.

Once I reached Orchard, I met up with Bian and Li Ann. We were meeting up for a gathering of sorts. The rest were going to be late so we did some window shopping. Eventually Yvonne called me to say that something came up so she won't be joining us. Eliz told Bian that she won't be joining as well. After Bian, Li Ann and I found seats at Takashimaya Food Court, Ronghui and Zonghao joined us.

We had our dinner and chat along as much as we could. Once dinner was over, we made our way to Coffee Club at Wisma Atria. The setting there is quite comfortable for a gathering and chilling out. Zonghao and I shared a Muddy Mudpie. To make it even more delicious, we had extra fudge added on it. Yummy... extremely sinful, yet delightfully good to eat. Whilst catching up, we took photos as well. It was fun playing with Zonghao's camera, which was able to take multiple shots.

The gals (Bian & Li Ann)...

The guys (Zonghao, Ronghui, me)...

The gang!

Soon, it was time for us to leave. I'm always grateful for these gatherings. It's not that easy for everyone to find time to meet up. I suppose, as we grow up, it won't become easier. So we just try. And keep on trying. ;)

Met up with Jenny to bring her to Yishun SAFRA. Today is her first time climbing there. She had become interested in the sport after her holiday trip to Genting, where she got to try out the rockclimbing there.

Her first impression of the walls was that they were bigger and higher than expected. She told me that she was feeling excited about trying out climbing at the walls in SAFRA. In fact, she had even dreamt of it! I'm just happy that I was able to help make her dreams a reality. Hehe...

Once we got our gears, off we were to the walls. Jenny tried out the easiest walls for today. After her climbs, she was really tired. However, she felt happy about the climbs. Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have a new member to the climbing community!

Who is that? So high up!

Thereafter, we went about our own ways. I headed down to NUS to meet up with my climbing friends. We were there for our weekly dose of climb. For some of us, it's the first climb for the year! Yay!

It was really good to see familiar faces again. Though I didn't climb as much as I should, the whole session had been pretty enjoyable. It's all in the company I'm with.

All in all, it had been a good day to climb! =D

Today I met up with Nicole. The first time for this year. =P Hehe...

She was sharing her experience in India during her YEP expedition, and recounting how lucky she and her friends were in not being caught in the tragedy. She also shared her encounters with the spooky kind, and how different everything was between India and Singapore. I'm just glad that she's back safe and sound. Oh, she bought me a souvenir too! Thanks Nicole! =D

Thereafter I went for dance lesson. I was late, as usual. Today's lesson was the most fun lesson since I started going for lessons. There was plenty of laughter going around, and the routine was enjoyable. It was the last of the Hip Hop lessons for now. Next week we will be moving on to Street Jazz. I'm told it's a fusion of Hip Hop and Jazz. Stretching might take up most of the time. Hence, I really need to be early. Something new. I'm looking forward to it already! =D

Meanwhile, I'm still kind of cold towards my fellow classmates. Friendly only to a few that I know of personally. The rest, still strangers. It feels awkward. I believe, in due time, I have to get to know them. But for now, I don't know, perhaps I'm just shy...

A new day.

A new year.

For many of us today marks a new beginning. Yet we won’t forget the misfortunes of yesteryear. Yes, today is the start of a new year. For others, it’s just another day since they last heard from their loved ones. Another day away from the time they last saw their loved ones. Another day for grieving.

The pain of loss is still fresh in everyone’s heart and mind.

The day didn’t start all bright and sunny as I hoped for. It is still raining. Heaven is still shedding tears with us. Though tears won’t run forever, memories of the tragedy will still linger.

It is comforting to know that efforts have not ceased to help the victims. In fact, help is gathering momentum in all parts of the world. Organizations, Governments and individuals are chipping in all forms of helps. There seems to be no end to the extent of generosity. Now that’s a good way to start the new year. Helping strangers from other parts of the world.

On a more personal note, I’m looking forward to this year. There are a lot of good things going on for me, which makes this year exciting. For now, I can’t share the things that I’m looking forward to, yet. All in good time of course. Why spoil the surprise, right? ;)

Today started of with me dragging my tired body to work at Yishun SAFRA. Imagine that. I worked only for a while, from 9am till 12 noon before heading down to Suntec for another job. Yup. 2 job in 1 day. The first day of the new year. Yippee. =P

It’s surprised me though. Today, people are out in full force to shop! Perhaps it has something to do with the sale that many shops are having. Or perhaps it has something to do with buying something on the first day of 2005. Whatever the reason, shoppers grew in numbers as the day went on.

When I finally knocked off at 7pm, there was only 1 thing on my mind: Sleep! I had a whole night of fun on the eve of New Year, and didn’t get a proper rest till the time I knocked off work. So definitely a zombified me is looking forward to some well-earned rest.

And so ends the first day of 2005 for me.

For this year, I wish for you and your family good health, lots of love, happiness and prosperity and the best in all aspects of life. May 2005 be a wonderful year to all!

With love,

Dean
