Happiness! For today I break my fast with my group of close friends. Namely Ronghui, Zonghao, Carol and Chee Wee. Sok Bee, Husni, Mingdao, Ben and Suzanna couldn't make it though.

We ate in a hawker centre at AMK before deciding to chill at S-11. Oh, Carol finally showed us her new hair-do which looks quite good. After a good chill session we went on a shooting spree, taking photos with my trusty digicam.

Head's up!

Weng, please raise your hands

Where's Weng?

Quick Zonghao! Get In The Pic!

Smile!

All in all it's good to meet up with close friends after a long period of absence. The rest better be there next time!

Disappointment! For today I learnt good and bad news about the 7260. More of bad news to disappoint me though. The good news is that it's not expensive. The price is $568 without line at Nokia Shop. The bad news is that it suffers from a deficiency in functions. Firstly, it has no bluetooth. It only has infra-red. Secondly it's camera is a VGA camera, not a 1 megapixel camera. Thirdly there is no mp3 player built-in, only FM radio. Fourthly, the memory space is not that big and there is no room for expansion. Lastly the screen is not big (128pixel x 128pixel) enough to fully utilize the 65k colour. I suppose I deserved to be disappointed for not checking out the phone's features. It was instant liking when I came across the phone's page some months ago. The liking is in the design. I was then under the impression that since the phone looked abit like 7610, it's functions has to be the same. Now I know I was wrong. My take on the 7260 is that it's nothing more than a repackaged 7250.

Batman Fans Rejoice! : The teaser trailer for the new Batman movie is out. Actually I figured it has been out for quite some time. Only found out about it yesterday through Weiyang. You can view it at their official website.

What Is Love Like? : Whilst searching for Party World Ktv official website (which they have none, from what I can't find), I came across this blog page which is pretty readworthy. You can read it here. Oh, I don't know who the blogger is personally.

Vote For Sydney! : A friend of mine (Sydney Tan) is in the list of finalists for some contest. Take part by voting (Sydney Tan). Once you've voted (Sydney Tan), you will be entitled to a lucky draw (or so I'm told). Of course you're free to vote anyone (Sydney Tan). ;) You can do your voting at this website.

If humans were made like computers, then I'm due for an upgrade. My memory is failing, my processing is slow and my output is at times gibberish. At times I hang (when stoning). Have yet to crash though. Haha...

The after-effects of KTV till 4am sank in on me as I dragged myself to work today. Luckily my colleague, Keith,  has the same frequency as me. It made work less boring that it already is. Oh, he shared with me some nice and funny pics. Here are some of them :

During work I called up Diana to ask her about the China Black outing. She told me response was good and encouraged me to go. Well, I then decided to rush home (after work) to change and join them. However my drive waned when I got home. Tiredness took it's toll on me, plus the realization that I have work tomorrow served to derail my intention further. Hence with a heavy heart (and head) I sms Diana to inform her of my change of plans. Then I fell into a short slumber around 10pm.

Woke up around midnite to surf the net and catch up with some friends online. Excitement filled me up when I learnt that the phone that I've been eyeing, the Nokia 7260, is out in Singapore! Was told that it's pretty pricey. Guess I've to wait till the price drops. Lost track of time and before I knew it, it's time to eat in preparation for fasting. Finally knocked out at 6am.

Shocking : Someone gave me a website to test my colour vision. The test can be pretty shocking, and is not recommended for the fainted heart. If you're still game to take the test, click here.

The day started off slow. I went to my client's office for some follow-up services. It's actually more of 'customer education' (something I picked up from working with Intel) as I was teaching my client how to manage their website. Thereafter I headed back home. Oh, I realized that time travels really fast when you're reading a good book. Luckily it didn't make me miss my stop.

After breaking fast, I took a short nap and got online. Was feeling sleepy till I got a call from Sharon. (Note : I know of at least 6 'Sharons', and 4 are from SIM). Was a bit stunned not often do I get a call from Sharon.

Sharon : "Dean Dean, where are you?"

Me : "At home lor.. wassup?"

Sharon : "You wanna go KTV? Me and Liping are on the way to pick up Francis in Yishun and then we all will be going down to Orchard to KTV and Rae is meeting us there so do you want to come along since you stay in Yishun we can pick you up. (Note: she rattled this sentence, more or less the same words, with one breath)

Me (fully awake now) : "Wah! I didn't catch that, can repeat? Kidding. Now? Hmmm... ok lor. I meet you at Northpoint."

After a quick change of clothes, I was off to meeting Sharon and Liping. Managed to grab a quick bite at Burger King though. Anyway after we met up and picked Francis up, we were off too Party World KTV! When we reached Party World, in the parking lot I saw one of the cars that I'm thinking of acquiring. That car looks so sleek that I had to take a pic of it. It is the Mercedes-Benz SLR.

Mercedes-Benz SLR : Very Sleek

Singing is fun! Especially when the company is this good. Yeah! Haha.. there was just 5 of us (Rae, Sharon, Liping, Francis, me) and sang plenty we did. It's my first time with them in a KTV session. Rae, Liping and Francis can sing really well! Sharon... hmm... she laughs instead of singing. =P Haha.. so we all sang... all the way till 4am in the morning!

Rae singing, with Sharon & Liping as back up vocals

Francis - Pose Of The Night!

Liping singing

Everybody.. Squeeze!!

I finally got to practice my singing in a KTV session. I've been wanting to do that since I found out about the upcoming talentime competition that will be held in SIM. Still have yet to decide on the song to perform, but all in good time. ;) Oh yes, do come and lend your support! One of my few 'public' performances. Hahaha... During this session, I practiced singing 'Qi Li Xiang' (Zhou Jie Lun) and 'Ai Hen Jian Dan' (David Tao). Sang the latter terribly as I had not been listening to the song. Practice. Need more practice.

During the KTV something weird happened. I went to the toilet and as I opened the door to go out a guy walked past by me and he turned to me and said, 'You're from SIM?'

I turned to face him, thoughts racing to put a name to the face, but that came blank as I can't recognize that guy at all. I replied, 'Yeah. You too?"

Stranger : "Yeah. So you're still studying in or graduated?"

Me : "Still in, final year already."

Stranger : "Ok. So you're here with your OG?"

Me : "Not really, I'm here with some ODAC friends."

Stranger : "Oh, is Sharon here as well?"

Me : "Yeapz. Sharon, Rae, Liping and Francis."

Stranger : "Oh... can I meet Sharon?"

Me : "Sure. Follow me."

As I lead the guy back to the KTV room, my mind was still racing on trying to identify the guy. But I soon gave up and waited for Sharon to enlighten me. I opened the door to our room and stood there.

Me : "Oi, Sharon, got someone looking for you."

Sharon : "Yeah right Dean, nice try."

Me : "Serious lah. Someone says he knows you."

Sharon : "Dean I'm not getting up and I don't see anyone and who would be looking for me at 3am in the morning?"

That's when I asked the guy to come forward (he was hiding somehow, which I don't know why) and when Sharon saw him she leaped from her seat and came out. I went in and left them to chit chat. Seems like Rae knows him as well and she joined Sharon outside, leaving me, Liping and Francis to sing away for awhile. After they returned I learnt that the guy is Roy, he joined in the Desaru cycling trip last year and has graduated this year. But then again, I still don't know who Roy is! Haha... but thanks Roy! You made me feel like I'm famous somehow. Hahaha...

Thank you!

A big thank you to you for taking time to visit my humble website. And for the compliments, suggestions and encouragements. I feel more motivated by the support shown. And I am grateful for the support given.

Today I said farewell to an old 'friend'. This 'friend' has been very reliable and been with me for 7 years now. But the time has come for change and to move on. Who is this 'friend'? Actually, it's more of a 'what' than a 'who'. Let me show you.

My old 'friend'

The New Kid

Hahaha... I can only imagined the stunned look. Ok, allow me to explain. Today I changed the casing for one of my computer systems. The old casing is my old 'friend'. It has been with me since I first moved into Yishun. However, it was too cramped for my style. So I decided to change and move on. In comes The New Kid.

Achievement for today : I woke up the earliest for the whole week! 815am! Usually I'm up by 11am or 12pm. However, today was an exception. Mainly because I had to go to work. Still, I was looking forward to work today. I finally get to catch up with my colleague, Norman. Haven't seen him for almost 2 months since he went on a holiday to the States. While waiting for Norman to arrive, I was reading Digital Life and came across an article which featured some interesting facts.

"...in Singapore, Singtel, MobileOne and Starhub records about 23 million SMS messages being sent and received every day. Worldwide, an estimated one billion SMS messages are sent worldwide every day while Google Answers estimates that 31 billion e-mail messages are sent daily."

FWAH! 23 million SMS messages, every day! All of us are part of that 23 million. Wohoo!! (Don't rejoice if you don't have a mobile phone)

Well, when Norman arrived, he sure had plenty of interesting stories to share. And lots of great pics too. I made a mental note to consider going to the States for a holiday. ;)

Fasting : Took a nap after work, woke up close to the time to breaking fast. For the oblivious, the fasting month of Ramadan has started for Muslims worldwide. You can find more information on Ramadan here. What I can share with you is that I will wake up before sun-rise to eat and drink (while trying very hard not to fall asleep amidst eating). After sun-rise, I will abstain from eating and drinking until sunset. During this period I will still have to carry on with life as usual. This is carried out for 30 days. There are exceptions to fasting though. Anyone who is sick or unwell is excused from fasting. This includes women having their periods. Very young and very old people are also excused from fasting. Personally, I enjoy the arrival the fasting month. This is because I know that at the end of the fasting month, there is the big celebration known as Hari Raya Aidilfitri!! Wohoo!! More on that when the right time comes. Hehehe...

Disturbing news : After fasting managed to read through the papers when I chance upon a news that disturbed me. The article can be found here. What disturbed me was the fact that Sheikh Haikel was assumed guilty even before the results of his urine tests were out. It impressed upon me that no matter what people say, they will still condemn you once you are suspected of doing something wrong. Where's the fairness in that? At times like these you'll see who your friends really are. And who your real friends are.

Dean's Digital Domain can be a pretty confusing place to be surfing in. However, have no fear, for help is here. It's in the form of the Site Guide that you see above. Go ahead, check it out, and see what you can find here.

This humble webbie of mine is a head start to what I envision to be an almost lifetime commitment. The most exciting thing about this is that it's constantly evolving as it grows with age. I've in place great plans, and these plans will materialize in time to come. So stay tuned!

In the mean time don't forget to leave your mark, either on my Shout Box or Guest Book.

Till then, take care~!

I have returned!

Returned from Knight's Chalet at Downtown East. This was a chalet not to be missed! Especially since I had missed plenty of outings previously. But for this chalet, I rescheduled my work just to be there. Could have arrived sooner had I woke up to the tune of my alarm. =X

Well, upon arrival, I was swarmed by my 'fans'. Haha... the gals wanted to take photo together, and that we did many times. After all, not often everyone get to take pics with Zhou Jie Dean! =P Hahaha...

Karin & me

Jillian & me

Angela & Me

Liping & me

Joanne & me

Pamela & me

Photos after photos, poses after poses... We took photos till the battery was exhausted!! Good thing I had brought along a spare battery and charger as well.

Thereafter we had our BBQ. Food glorious food... there was lots of food!! Main chef for the nite was Geoffrey, Benamin, Pamela and Weiyang. Thanks a lot guys, the food you cooked was great!

Kudos to the chefs! Geoffrey, Benamin, Pamela & Weiyang (not in pic, replaced by Joanne instead!)

Food glorious food!!

Buttered prawns, honeyed prawns, honey chicken, crab meat, hotdog, chili squid and the bee hoon tasted really good. I ate till my stomach almost burst! Hahaha... it sure was a great challenge to stay away from the food in the beginning. After all, I was fasting. When the time comes to break fast, all hell broke loose. Immediately tackled the food aggressively! Haha... I even had a minor stomachache as well since I drank gassy drinks when I broke my fasting. Good thing there was plenty of food to make the pain go away. Yay!

After the sumptuous dinner, we headed back into the chalet to chill. It was then I learnt that not everyone is going to stay over for the night. One by one, the Knights left. The survivors felt a bit bored till Joanne suggested playing Twister! By sheer luck, I was amongst the first to play. It was my first time playing that game. And I must say it is really fun! Haha.. pretty hilarious watching yourself and your friends getting twisted.

Twist & Shout!

Twist & form the human train!

But all the fun had to come to an end. There was only Jillian, Joanne, Liping, Weiyang & me left as the sole survivors for the chalet. All in all, I enjoyed myself a lot. Hope that you Knights out there enjoyed yourselves too!

The survivors! (Jillian left earlier in the morning so not in pic)
