No internet in the office for 2
days already!
I am bored to tears, maybe even to death!
Argh!!!
Yesterday’s clubbing with the climbers at the Last Mambo
of 2006 was fun! But the side-effect of it is not so
fun. Feeling sleepy and got a bit of a headache, all
day! Oh well, just got to endure. Maybe for 2007, my
resolution could be not to club if I’m working the next
day. Below are the pics taken yesterday night.

Y.E.S
Starting today, lots of places were having sale.
The all anticipated, wallet friendly
year end sale (Y.E.S).
The discount may vary, but the concept is the same:
things are cheaper than before. Sadly, my wallet has
become thinner hence I can’t go all out to spend, spend,
spend. Anyone care to donate to the Dean’s Retail
Therapy Fund? =P
Last Climbing of the Year
Despite my body’s complains
of tiredness, I made my way to Climb Asia to meet up
with the climbing gang for the last climbing for the
year. The year wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t go for
one last climb. This time around, instead of NUS
climbing gym, we headed to Climb Asia.
Over there, I met up with Jessica, Kelly and Daniel.
Jessica had just come back from holidaying in Australia.
When I cheekily asked her for souvenirs, I was replied
by an irritated Jess with ,’Please lor, I nearly killed
a kangaroo there!’
It was much later that I found out that she and her
friends were on a road trip and their car had knocked
down a kangaroo that had ‘appeared out of nowhere’.
Amazingly, the kangaroo survived the accident and
happily hopped away. Unfortunately, the car was dented
and they were made $2300 poorer for the repairs. Talk
about bad luck. Poor Kangaroo.
Oh, I also found out that Jessica don’t have a habit of
buying souvenirs so I was advised against asking her for
any in future. Lesson learnt, point taken.
Anyway climbing would have been more fun if my body did
not ‘die’ on me. After two endurance climb, my arms gave
up on me and I couldn’t do any more climbing. And that’s
after only one hour of being there! Argh! Bummer… The
mind is strong but the flesh is weak. Oh well, I’ll do
better in 2007!

Boxing Day!
Not so happy for me though
because I have to go to work! Argh!!!
The Link
Between Rain and Toilet
This is something I
personally noticed. I'm sharing it with you to see how
true or false this link is. The link between rain and
toilet.
I noticed that when it rains,
people go to toilet more often. Be it small or big
'business', it doesn't matter. The frequency just
increases during rainy days. I'm saying this because I'm
experiencing it myself.
And then it hits me (while going
to the toilet for the countless times).
It's simple physics actually.
When it rains, the temperature goes down. It becomes
colder all around. When it's cold, matter contracts.
Even the body. Does your stomach contracts more. So does
your bladder.
The result? More visits to the
toilet. Simple, right?
Thus the link between Rain and
Toilet. More rain = more toilet visits!
You learn something new every
day. Hahaha...
People
Who Don't Flush Should Must Be Hanged!
As
the heading goes, people who don't flush must be hanged!
Hanged by their genitals especially.
I would understand if people
don't flush because the flush is faulty. But this is
rarely the case (especially in toilet conscious
Singapore). More often, people just go in, do their
business and get the hell out. Without flushing! WTF???
These are the people who must be
hanged (by their genitals) or shot (at their genitals)
so that they don't have the experience of going to the
toilet and causing anguish and disgust to other people.
Imagine this: you get a sudden case of the 'big one'
coming while shopping around. Hence you rush to the
nearest toilet, all ready to 'let go'. But the moment
you step into an empty cubicle, you realized to your
utter disgust (which is worst, smelling or seeing?) that
the toilet bowl was already 'occupied', leftover crap
courtesy of he-who-must-be-hanged. And since it was left
there for some time, attempts to flush it away proved
fruitless. In addition, you're rushing to 'let go'. So
how???
Find another cubicle. Curse and
swear as you do your business.
I did not experience this
personally though. But as I was going to the toilet in a
hawker centre, I passed by this empty cubicle and saw
someone's 'leftover' in the toilet bowl. Disgusting.
After feeling disgusted, I felt
pity. Pity for the toilet cleaner who has to clean up
after the mess. I'm sure the toilet cleaner would
gladly volunteer to hang the culprit or pull the
trigger. Or make the culprit clean up the worst toilets
that can be found in Singapore. Kinda like CWO
(Corrective Work Order). It could be called CTT -
Corrective Toilet Training. And culprits, besides
wearing neon-coloured blazers, will be equipped with
only gloves and tissue papers to clean up the mess.
Nope, no water at all too. They have to wipe the mess
clean with their hands and tissue papers.
I'm sure that way they will
remember to flush after use. ;)

The day is finally here! The day
for my department’s Christmas dinner! The best part of
it is that it’s on the company! Yay~~~ Hahahaha…
By the time I arrived in office, I hadn’t bought a gift
for the gift exchange yet. Thus I rushed down to Vivo
City during lunch to start hunting for a suitable gift.
There was a budget of $30 for the gift. In addition, it
has to be something that both guys and gals can use.
Very tricky.
Gift Hunting
I started off at Tangs. There were plenty
of interesting things to buy. I spotted something nice
but somehow felt weird about getting it. It was a
designer trash bin. The design is pleasant to the eyes
but I wondered how people would feel if they got a trash
bin for a gift. I sent sms to some friends for opinions,
and their replies convinced me that trash bin is not
such a good idea.
Then I spotted a small pillow and figured that would be
a good gift but it was over the budget. I left Tangs and
started moving around, shop-to-shop, to look for the
ideal gift.
Retail therapy may be enjoyable, but not when it’s gift
hunting! After one hour of walking about, I still had
not found something worthy.
That’s when I spot it. The greatest store in the whole
of Vivo City. The Adidas outlet. I wonder why didn’t I
think of going there straight-away in the first place.
Hmm…
Anyway I went in, and within 10 minutes, I found the
perfect gift for the gift exchange. An Adidas sling bag.
The best part? There was free gift wrapping! And the
wrapping made the gift looked like a million bucks!
Hahaha…
Feeling good, I rewarded myself with a scoop of Ben &
Jerry’s ice cream. Oh yes, the Ben & Jerry’s outlet in
Vivo City is having a promotion on it’s one pint ice
cream tubs. Buy 2 get 1 free! And the promotion is
ongoing till end of the year. So if you’re a fan, go and
get it!!!
Department Dinner
The dinner was to be at an Italian
restaurant called Al Dente Trattoria located in
Esplanade Mall. Very chic place. Surprisingly it was
crowded when we got there. Seems like other companies
were having their Christmas dinner there as well.
The food at this place was so-so. I had the steak, but
the portion served was kind of disappointing. Not very
filling. If I ever go there again, I’ll give the pasta a
go instead.
The highlight for the evening was the gift exchange. It
was done in a game. The game was called White Elephant
Way. The rules of the game go like this: those
participating will pick a number at random. The number
will determine the order of gift selection. Thus the
person who has number 1 will be the first to pick the
gift, and so on. Whoever has picked a gift will proceed
to unwrap the gift and show everyone what was picked.
When a person turn comes, he/she can either pick a gift
from pool of gifts or ‘snatch’ a present from someone
who has already opened a gift. For the person whose gift
has been ‘snatched’, he/she will have to pick another
gift from the pool. Hence the player with the most
advantage is the last player, because he/she will be
able to see all the gifts except the last one.
Through-out the game, there were plenty of snatching.
The gift that was snatched the most was a designer
computer input device (read mouse). It was snatched
about 4 times! That’s how hot it is. The snatching made
the exchange more fun, because you won’t really know who
is going to snatch your gift.
After that we proceeded to K-Box for after dinner
entertainment. Over there we sang and sang to our hearts
content. The singing was very entertaining as half of
the time we sang songs that everyone can dance and sing
along. There were even back up singers and dancers! Very
fun indeed!
I had hoped of staying longer, however I had other
plans. More specifically, an old friend was celebrating
his birthday in Zouk! Hence around midnight, I found
myself taking a cab to Zouk. The day is long and the fun
never ends!
Happy birthday Calvin!

Tired. Extremely tired.
Could barely keep myself awake at work today.
And there was plenty of work today. Typical of Monday.
Went straight home after work. To sleep. Slept early
too.
Shiok!

The Most Celebrative Months of
the Year
I always look forward to December. Not just
because my birthday is in December, but also because
December will lead to the New Year! That, along with
Christmas and school holidays, makes December the most
celebrative month of the year.
And possibly, the most expensive. That’s why bonus comes
in at the end of the year. So that you have plenty of
cash to spare to spend. For holidays and for gifts. And
in the season of giving, spending knows no barrier
(especially with the help of credit cards).
Deck the
cash registers with dollars and cents… fa la la la la,
la la, la la… I suppose the people laughing the most
would be the retailers.
Nevertheless, December is truly an awesome month. One
can start counting down to the near year from now. 1 day
down, 30 days left. 2007, here we come!
Birthday Countdown
I met up with the climbing gang for
dinner at Vivo City before heading down to Wala Wala at
Holland Village for my birthday countdown. This would be
a first for me, to have a birthday countdown. The
special moment starts at midnight.
However we got there pretty early, around 9pm, hence had
plenty of time to kill. Thus we started to joke about
and take photos while waiting for the golden moment.
All in all it was a fun night.
Many thanks to all for spending the time with me for the
countdown! =)
