Someone said tonight is my last night of as a civilian.

It's true.

Because tomorrow till 29th November I'll be in-camp doing my reservist.

Mixed feelings now.

Hope reservist will be fine.

Happy Birthday Joy!

7-11 Mambo!

It's been a while since I went to Zouk for Mambo. So long that I don't even remember when was the last time I did. But today is a good day to go because tomorrow is a holiday! Hooray!

Now I know almost every club is going to be packed since it's the holidays tomorrow but that definitely won't stop me from going. I need to party after all! And relive the nostalgic moments, as Yvonne puts it.

To try and beat the crowd, Yvonne, Eliz and I got the idea to go there as early as 7.30pm to buy the tickets. But today I had lots of work and so wasn't able to go down that early. I opted to go back and change before heading down as fast as my feet (and the public transport) could carry. Yvonne and Ben went down around that time and told me the bad news: the club doesn't open it's doors till 9pm!

WTF!!! So much for going in early and try to beat the crowd.

Besides Eliz and Yvonne, the SIM ODAC folks headed down to tonight's party at Zouk as well. After all, it's been a while since all of us had some Mambo Jambo!

When I got there (around 9.30pm), the crowd was HUGE! Seems like a lot of people had the same idea of partying the night away since tomorrow is a holiday. Damn! But, lucky for me, after queueing for about 30mins, I was in! Hooray~

Since I had two groups of friends around, I found myself shuttling to and fro between tables and dance floor. In addition, I bumped into more familiar faces while moving around Zouk. Awesome!

All in all, it was a fun night and one to remember this year. =)

Caught a movie with Ronghui at GV Vivo City today.

Was expecting a great comedy but it turned out to be something else.

Something better...

'Lars & The Real Girl' Synopsis

A lonely, delusional young man (Ryan Gosling) buys a life-size sex doll on the Internet and falls in love with her, telling people it's his girlfriend. His brother and sister-in-law step in to help him with his delusion.

'Lars & The Real Girl' Review

As mentioned above, I was expecting a great comedy. And part of this show was funny. But the message behind it was something surprisingly more deep and touching.

The show starts of with the introduction of Lars, a guy who has trouble interacting with people and expressing himself. While his lacked ways to express himself, people around him care for him more than he understands. And despite his clumsiness at interacting with people, he still wants to reach out to others. He just doesn't quite know how.

That is until he came across a website selling life-size sex dolls. And bought one for himself. And went around telling people that the life-size doll is a real girl and his girlfriend.

From then on you will see how a town work together to help Lars handle this rather crazy situation. And you'll see how Lars changed for the better. And that is what I like about the show. The actions and interactions that was going on in the big screen, of how people try to cope with an unexpected and crazy situation and how people can learn from it without realizing it themselves.

At the end of it, the point is that some times you need a little craziness in your life to make it better. And that you have to look beyond what you see to learn some of life's lessons.

One thing for sure, you have to think quite a bit while watching this show. And laugh out loud when the comedy part kicks in. ;)

Keep it real!

Well, since the Internet became accessible to many, the paths to good stuffs became more and more available.

Same goes to the bad stuffs.

If there was any video clip that is very disgusting, this clip would be it.

Climbing Gang Visits The Fortress

The climbing gang came to the Fortress today. It's been a while since they dropped by. And to celebrate this joyous occasion, they were treated to a rare visit into the Throne Room.

I hope they enjoyed themselves. For those who couldn't make it, there's always next time~

Tomorrow the Throne Room will be opened.

However Project Re-live is only 75% complete.

Oh well...

Colbert, the edited interview

I don't know who this guy really is, but the way his interview was edited is funny! Check it out~

The Trishaw Driver & The Ugly Tourists - The Son's Follow Up

By now most of you would have read about , heard of and seen the YouTube video of the three tourists who bullied an old trishaw driver while visiting our island.

According to local papers, this story was picked up by the media in UK and created a similar uproar amongst the locals there. Many global netizens have even wrote in to The New Paper to express their outrage over the three bullies and sympathy for the old man.

Meanwhile back home, TNP reported that the son found out about the news through his cousin and was obviously furious about it. He said his father was treated like a beggar. In addition, he wanted three forms of compensations from the bullies. The first was a written and unreserved apology. The second was payment that was due to his father. The last was to carry three old men.

Now I can understand about the first and second compensations. Both are reasonable and rational. I'm a bit puzzled by the third one. Ask them to carry three old person? What would that do to the bullies? Make them repentant? Or regret? Or both? I supposed it's following the phrase 'An eye for an eye'.

But that's not what the father wanted. In fact, the father was more following the phrase of 'let bygones be bygones'. Simply because he had forgotten about the whole episode until netizens and the media picked it up. The father admitted he was angry when the tourists ran off without paying, but took it as his bad luck and simply let it go. Well, you've got to respect that. Bad things happen to people all the time. Just don't dwell on it for too long. After all, 'what goes around, comes around'.

What was more interesting to me was the fact that the son claimed to meet the parents at least once a month, yet he never seemed to be aware of the troubles and tribulations that the father went thru. If he had a better relationship with his father, I'm sure an event like this won't be something that he was unaware of until someone told him about it. It's even more interesting that the father still has to work even when his children are already all grown up and working. Weren't we ever taught to take care of our parents when they were older?

So the British are ashamed that they have badly behaving tourists amongst them. Perhaps Singaporeans should be ashamed that they have people who are not so filial amongst them?

I try to live life to the fullest while enjoying the beauty that life has to offer.

It's all about the brighter and funnier side of life.

For everything else, you would have to discover for yourself.

Life's short. Work hard, play harder.
