Support Please!

Well someone I know of is running for a blog award. So kindly lend your support by voting Naomi Liu in the Best Modeling Blog category of Singapore Blog Awards 2009. You can cast one vote per day so do it! Every day!

Too bad I restarted my own website too late, else maybe I could be in the running for an award too. Hmmm... oh well, there's always next year!

Support Please! (Part Deux)

My friend Adam Liew is pretty good with shooting portraits so if you're looking for someone to help with any photo-shoots, you should put him as one of your top options!

Check out his blog and flickr to see his works (and rates) and be amazed (by his works).

Fashion Photographer

Now I've always been intrigued by the world of fashion photography so perhaps I should consider going into it. The following clip does provide some inspiration too.

That's my world. That's my reality. lol!

The Perfect Sunday

The perfect Sunday involves waking up pretty darn late to a quiet house and a cooling weather. And then there's brunch (nasi lemak and fried chicken!) all ready on the table, with a flask of hot tea by the side. After brunch, it's off to the lazy couch to relax and catch up on the news, accompanied by the peace and quiet. Best!

Since not every Sunday is like this, one will just have to enjoy it while it lasts.

Well, what's your perfect Sunday like?

The Greatest Fireworks Show That Was Mostly Missed

Argh! The greatest fireworks event for the year so far was held almost right at my backyard, and I missed most of it! WTF!

I had planned on meeting my friends for dinner, and prior to leaving the house everyone in the neighbourhood heard the 'boom-boom-boom' sounds that could only come from fireworks. But I couldn't see anything from my room and thought nothing of it.

It was when I was on the way to the train station that I caught sight of it. There was something definitely going on at Yishun Central because there was a great display of pyrotechnics going on at the open field near Yishun Central. For a while I was wondering what was going on. It's too early for National Day celebrations, and of all places, Yishun?

Eventually it didn't matter because everyone was captivated by the display of fireworks. The last time I saw something as spectacular was during the New Year's Eve countdown in Sydney. Lucky for me I had my digicam with me and captured the last few bits of it on video. I was of course late for the dinner appointment but the delay was well worth it!

In the end I learnt that the fireworks display was to wrap up the Arts Festival. Damn it, I missed most of it! Argh!!!!

Check out the following vidz which shows what I managed to catch that night.

Land Of The Lost

So I met up with a bunch of friends and we went to see Will Ferrell's latest movie, 'Land Of The Lost'.

Hilarious till the end! The start was a bit slow but after that it was one scene of laughter after another. Of course there were some breaks in between, but most of the time I was literally laughing out loud. I laughed so loud that even I felt a bit embarrassed by it! But whatever, the point of catching a comedy in a theatre is to laugh out loud and enjoy the funniness with friends. And to re-enact the funny scenes after that, just to keep the laughter going.

As the old saying goes, laughter is the best medicine. I personally prescribe it to you. =)

Oh yes, check out the movie trailer for 'Land Of The Lost'

The Internet is back for good!

Finally. The Line Technician arrived today. After briefing him on the situation, he gave me the best solution ever: replacing my modem with a new one. Subsequently, surfing was a breeze.

Let's hope it stays that way.

The Fight for Internet!

I couldn't take it any more, so I made the call again to Singnet Helpdesk (1800-8486933). I was thinking,' The person on the other line better have something good for me, else I will give him/her hell.'

The person who answered was a dude, and immediately I went on the offensive. It's a good thing I am IT-savvy, and have a very clear idea of the malfunction that I was experiencing. I told him that my Internet was down, and that I had done all the typical trouble-shooting and still there was not Internet. The idea was to narrow down the problem for the benefit of us both. Yet he still want me to repeat what I had previously done. So I had to repeat my emphasis on the problem, which made me even more pissed off.

Just when I was about to up my offensive strike, the light finally hit the dude and he arrived at a good diagnosis of the problem. On top of it, he gave me a solution that partly solved my problem.

After an almost strong fight, my Internet was back again! Still, I had a guarded optimism, as I knew the solution was short-term and the main problem was still unsolved. For the real problem to be solved, I would have to wait till tomorrow, when the Line Technician comes to my place.

For the time being, all is good. =)

What Kind of Sick Bastard Is This?

Firstly, read this story - Cabby dumped girls in deserted Lim Chu Kang.

Now for my two cents worth.

What kind of sick bastard is this guy?

He really gives all the cabbies out there a bad name. First he got lost. Next, he dumped his passengers, two young teenagers, in the middle of nowhere. Lastly, instead of keeping good on his word about wanting to help them 'light the path', he sped off. Where the fuck was his brains?

He took their money and left them in the middle of nowhere! And to top it off, that area is known to be a place that has a strong presence of the paranormal kind (read ghosts). From the way the girls spoke of their ordeal, it sounded like they ran into something ghostly.

The cabbie should thank his lucky stars that there is no way to criminally prosecute him nor sue him on any grounds. And that there's no lynching mob to beat him up and burn his house. But there's always karma, and he will get what he deserved. I can only hope for it to be sooner than later.

Drag Me To Hell

Now I hardly watch horror flick, but this one was directed by Sam Raimi, the same guy who brought the Spiderman series. So it must not be missed! And I caught it with Jonie, who always seem to be free from work. lol!

Sam Raimi said in an interview that horror movies always leave him in chuckles. Well, his show gave me quite a lot to laugh about! Sure, there were some suspenseful moments and some shocking scenes. But most of the time, the show gave plenty to laugh about. Some of the laughter came from girls screaming in the theatres while watching the show!

Anyway the show has a rather predictable twist in the end. The storyline, character and plot development was well-paced. So I would say this is a pretty good show to catch if you want some laughter and scared moments combined altogether!

Lesson learnt: Be nice to people. You'll never know when someone whom you're rude to will curse you to hell!

But then again, I'm always nice to people! =P

Seriously, WTH is wrong with my Internet?

Last Thursday, my Internet was down. Eventually it was discovered that it was due to a faulty phone circuit outside my house.

This morning, I came back to find it down again. I called Singnet, and after some troubleshooting, it miraculously came back. But barely 15mins later, the Internet was down again! Since I had to leave the house, I left it at that.

For the Internet to be down two weeks in a row, on the same day, something fishy is really going on. I'm beginning to think someone in the neighbourhood don't want me to surf till very late. Hmmm....

Street Fighter 4 - Akuma Ultra Combo!

I'm quite a fan of the latest installment of Street Fighter, and my favourite character is Akuma. His ultra combo is superb to see, and if I can master it's execution, I will be superb! =P I always get a 'high' feeling whenever I'm able to win a round with the ultra combo, and any game is incomplete without trying to execute it. Check out the following video if you want to have an idea of what I'm talking about.

Revived from the dead!

Yes! Finally! After a long time I have revived my website from the 'dead' status. Despite the gloomy economy, global conflicts and a rapidly spreading virus, I have to say it feels quite good to be back. With time on my side again, let the creative juices flow and let limits of the boundaries be challenged!

A lot has changed since my last entry, which was almost a year ago (excluding the birthday wishes to myself). And a lot more changes are to come, going by the trend. So... exciting!

Of course, some things still remain. After all, if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

To those who have been loyally following my website, I sincerely apologize for the sudden stop in sharing. I am looking at some ideas on how to keep you posted speedily. Hopefully these ideas will come into fruition soon.

To those who just started following, welcome! I hope you'll be entertained, intrigued, humoured and awed by my day to day entries.

And to all, have fun! Because you live life only once!

Oh yes, in case you didn't notice, I picked today's date because it's in multiple of 3s. 3/6/9.  Coincidentally, it's the date of my last entry on the previous website. =D

In addition let me share the following video that cracked me up now and then.

Jizz In My Pants

My Facebook is dead!

In case you didn't know yet, my Facebook account is dead. Facebook disabled it, since 18 May. You can never find it if you search for it via my email (addien@pacific.net.sg), and if you tried to invite me via the same email, you'll get some warning or error message from Facebook.

I have started appealing against their decision and have rallied support from my friends in my appeal. Hopefully they will be kind as to return me my account. It was a sad day for Dean when that happened. =(

I try to live life to the fullest while enjoying the beauty that life has to offer.

It's all about the brighter and funnier side of life.

For everything else, you would have to discover for yourself.

Life's short. Work hard, play harder.
