The Last Day At
Harbourfront
It's finally here. The
last day at the Keppel Bay Tower office
in Harbourfront. I will sorely miss this
place. The morning started slow, with
packing up of some stuffs and clearing
of my desk. However, the pace picked up
fast and by 11.00am, almost everyone had
finished packing their computers! Some
department had even left by that time,
even though the server shutdown would
only be at twelve noon. Some of my
colleagues went around taking photos
together. How nostalgic.
I will miss
this place.
Farewell Lunch
I met up with Sok Bee, Chiew Peng and
Kim Seng for my 'farewell' lunch at Vivo
City today. We had lunch at one of my
favourite restaurant, Akashi. It's the
only Japanese restaurant that I support
so far. Simply because it mainly serves
ala-carte dishes instead of sushi. We
took a picture together to remember this
day. It was the first time 4 of us took
a picture together this year.

Retail Therapy
Headed to Far East Square to shop!
Tonight I'm going to Zouk for my
so-called 'farewell party', even though
it's more of a fun night out enjoying
Mambo at Zouk. Any reason is a good
reason when it comes to having fun. ;)
As I walked
around I stumbled into this shop called
'Z'. It's a shop that caters to men's
fashion, in the smart casual type. The shop has
blazers, long sleeves shirts and leather
shoes mostly. I walked around, and was
eventually presented with a range of
men's casual blazers that was on sale
(50% off!). Eventually found one that I
liked. I also picked up a tie that
looked totally funky and would go well
with the white shirt that I plan to wear
tonight. Can't wait!
I continued
walking around and eventually found
myself in a boutique of sorts. There was
no name to this place (at least one that
I could see). Inside, there were all
sorts of hats and masks and shades and
so on. I spotted a hat that looked quite
cool and tried it on. It was white in
colour. The design was nice but the
colour worried me, as white tend to get
dirty easily. The sales girl informed me
that she has a black one and went off to
get it after I told her I'd like to see
it.
While waiting for
her, I asked the sales dude if he has
platform shoes. Whie he didn't have any,
he offered me an alternative. These
alternatives were called 'Creepers'
and they were offered by this fashion
label called 'Underground'.
They're not as high as platform shoes,
but they offer 2-inches of soles. Nice.
I tried them on. They felt perfect. So I
asked him how much. This was his reply,'
Well, you know, these shoes were
imported from Europe. As you can see,
these are leather shoes and they were
made in Europe. So what you have there
are shoes designed and made in Europe.
For this, the
shoes cost one hundred and eighty
dollars.'
In my head, my
jaw dropped, time stopped and my wallet
screamed,' ONE
HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DOLLARS!!!'
That's like freaking expensive. WTF!
After 3-seconds
of silent, 20-seconds of thinking and
10-seconds of small talk, I said,'
Ok. I'll take it.'
I had just bought
my most expensive pair of shoes (even
more expensive than my climbing shoes).
Still, I like them. They look good.

My
first pair of 'Creepers'
Mambo@Zouk
Together with Sok Bee, Bao Yan, Belle,
Adrian and Desmond, we partied the night
away in Zouk. It was to be a night to
remember...

Well, if your father is a graphic
designer, you can be sure to have fond
memories of your photos, especially this
kid!

And my own

Make Babies? Oh
yeah!
There sure are some
interesting applications on Facebook.
Quite some time back I got the following
request:

(note: Picture and
name censored for privacy purposes)
This lady friend
wants to make babies with me! Oh yeah!
Hahaha...

15 Days Left At
Harbourfront
In about 15
days time, I will be shifting office
from Harbourfront to Lorong Chuan (area
between Serangoon and Ang Mo Kio), at
NewTech Park exactly. The rent at our
present location tripled. Just because
of the bloody IR. How I hate the IR at
Sentosa. Grrr…
The new office is
closer to my neighbourhood, if compared
with Harbourfront. That’s the only plus
point. The move forces my colleagues and
me to give up a lot of luxuries and
benefits. Such as the scenic view of the
sea and Sentosa, the variety of good
food in Vivocity, Harbourfront Centre
and Seah Im Hawker Centre, the
entertainment and shopping that can be
found in the shopping centres and the
friends working nearby. Haiz… I will
especially miss the company of friends
working nearby. =(
The new office
will be smaller too. And due to the
space constraint, we will have to give
up a lot of recreational facilities and
furniture. Which is why it is no
surprise that today we received an email
stating that there are some office
furniture on sale. Amongst the items on
sale was one massage chair and the pool
table.
So damn bloody
sad lah! The pool table is not going
with us!!! ARGH!!! =(
The pool table is
going for $500, and the massage chair,
$1000. I would go for the pool table if
I had space in my house to put it. Now
I’m wishing I got my own house to put
it. ARGH!!!
I hate this
relocation. I just hate it.
Call The Police!
Ok, picture the following scenario:
You were out with
two friends and on your way to have
dinner. At the coffeeshop you bump into
someone you knew from reservist called
Jason (not his real name). After some
small talk, you had your dinner.
Thereafter you and your friends
proceeded to a shopping centre to
window-shop.
Just as you
entered the shopping centre, Jason
appeared. He says he needs to borrow
your phone (an expensive phone that you
bought recently) to make a call. As he
was making the call, Jason said the
reception was bad so he is going out to
get a clear reception. So you waited
with your two friends. Sensing something
amiss, you went out and Jason was
nowhere to be found. You tried to call
Jason using your friend’s phone but no
pick up. Jason then sent an sms to say
he is coming back but after 1 hour of
exchanging sms-es and saying he will
reach ‘in 15mins’, he never turn up.
Even after you threaten to report him to
the police.
Conclusion: He
stole your phone, and you were made a
fool for trusting him with your phone.
Subsequently you made a police report.
Aftermath: Now,
almost a year later, you went for your
reservist. And there, lo and behold, was
Jason! He avoided you as much as he can.
What is the right thing to do there and
then?
The right thing
to do (also the most sensible thing to
do) is to call the Police. After all,
this is the best chance to nab the
bastard who betrayed your trust and took
advantage of your kindness by ‘spitting
in your face’ and steal your phone. He
is not a small boy who is not aware of
the consequences of his action. And by
avoiding you he has no remorse about his
misdeeds towards you. Getting him
arrested by the Police and letting the
Law deal with him will also ensure the
protection of other people’s property. I
mean, if he can do it once, he can do it
again. Who knows, while doing reservist,
he will steal from others. Prevention is
better than cure.
I would dial
‘999’ immediately if it was me. But this
didn’t happen to me. It happened to
someone else. And that someone has to
‘think about it’. At around 7pm today
that someone asked me what he should do.
And I told him to call the Police. At
around 11pm when I asked that someone if
he had called the Police, he told me he
is thinking about it.
Seriously , what
the fuck is there to think about?
The thief didn’t
offer to pay you back for the phone,
avoids you as much as possible, and is
probably laughing at ‘getting away with
it’. And you still have to think about
calling the Police?
This is something
that I don’t understand, and I probably
won’t until I get an explanation from
that someone. That is also if he wants
to share with me. But it just doesn’t
make any sense.
Fuck it; I’m
feeling that I can’t be bothered any
more.
Unappreciated
I feel unappreciated. Especially when
someone who wanted to meet up after work
suddenly asked me to find my own plans
because she wants to sleep. I spared
time and attention on her whenever she
needs it.
And all for what?
To be treated
like a doll and be cast aside at a whim?
If that’s the way
it’s going to be then it’s better for me
to spend time with people who appreciate
my company and treat me well.
If I care for you,
and yet you’re going to be a bitch to
me, then I will give you the treatment a
bitch deserves.

Bribe
Progress is on the way!
Today I opened a letter and read an
interesting news. I will be receiving my
bribe progress package and gst offset
package in the months to come. In the
months to come!
I wonder why are
we not given a lump sum instead?
My guess is that
the Gahmen wants to remind you now and
then that they do ‘take care’ of you by bribing you sharing
with you a piece of the progress pie. Of
course, they take 90% of it while we get
leftovers and scraps. After all, they
need to ensure that our leaders do not
stray off into the private sector and
that their pay is equivalent to the
private sector. What better way than to
give the elites a big fat bonus. As my
JC principal once said,’ Well done
boys!’.
At this point,
the typical Singaporean would ask,’ Why
are we not getting more?’
And the typical
respond would be,’ Because we don’t want
you to be lazy bums like us’. Of course,
they have people to put that in a nicer
way, and censure some of the words
above.
Thanks for the
bribe progress package!
I’ll use it overseas to pay for my
trips! =)
Stoned
The whole day I felt so damn tired.
Thanks to the cable-skiing that I did
yesterday. The body is aching like hell.
But the ache is always welcomed, because
it means my muscles are working out and
I am going to get beefy! Hahaha…
Well, I’m
definitely going to sleep early tonight.
11.30pm.

Morning Scare
I was so damn sleepy this morning. The
night before, I slept at 3a.m and woke
up around 7a.m. Had clinic before I went
out for Saturday night fun. Yesterday, I
reached home at 4a.m, slept and was
awake by 6.30a.m. With less than 7 hours
of sleep, how can I not be sleepy right?
I woke up early
this morning as I was going for cable
ski in Batam. Packed everything and
showered and was soon on the way. I was
waiting for the train to arrive at
Yishun MRT while my mind wandered. Just
as the train reached the station, BAM!
It hit me! No, not the train, but a
shock.
I had forgotten
my passport!!! How to go Batam without
my passport??? Fuck!!!
I had cold sweat
all over. My mind went into overdrive
too!
Immediately I ran
out of the station, caught a cab and
drove straight to my place. Thereafter
ran up, ran into the house and into my
room, where I found my passport lying
innocently on my table. Picked it up and
did a thorough mental check of the
things I needed (in case I forgot
anything else) and left as soon as
possible. Damn! That was enough to keep
me awake for the whole trip, with me
cursing at my forgetfulness.
Cable Ski @ Batam
Today my aim was to land properly after
going off the kicker. The kicker is the
lingo for the ramp. I’ve been able to go
up the ramp, but I’ve never been able to
land properly.
At the end of the
day, I still haven’t been able to land
properly. It is so damn frustrating! The
next time I go, I’ll have to get some
tips from the crew there. I did manage
to capture my jumps on video. Will post
it up once I’ve transferred it from my
video camera!

Earth Day Recce
This morning, a few of my colleagues and
I were supposed to meet up at Pasir Ris
Park at 8.30am. We were going to walk
the ground of Pasir Ris Park and do a
recce of the place as we are group
leaders for Timberland Earth Day. During
Earth Day, we will be contributing our
efforts towards park conservation. Last
year I planted trees. This year I will
be cleaning up the mangrove. Darn. I had
already psyche myself up into planting
trees! =\
I was getting to
leave the house at 7.20am when it
started to rain heavily! One minute
later, Audrey called to inform me it was
cancelled. Back to bed I went.
When I reached
the office, I got word that the recce
would still go on, since the weather was
improving. Eventually we left the office
at 11.30am as it had stopped raining by
then.
If you’ve been to
Pasir Ris Park, you would know that it
is pretty huge! We almost couldn’t find
the exact place that we were supposed to
go. Only after some ‘exploring’ did we
get our bearings right. And commenced on
our recce.
For my group, we
will be in-charge of mangrove clean-up.
As it was high tide, we didn’t get a
clear view of the area that we were
supposed to clean-up. But I imagine the
area to be quite big. Oh well, if it
gets too hot, we can always throw
ourselves into the river! Hahaha…
Timberland Earth
Day will be on 22nd April. Anyone
interested in helping out?
Climb @ NUS
It’s been a while but I finally made my
way to NUS to climb. The climbing gym
was closed for 2 weeks or so due to the
BoulderActive competition. Now that the
competition is over, it’s time to ‘whack
the wall’! The best thing about the gym
now is that there are plenty of new
routes on the wall. Hence new problems
to solve and new challenges to overcome!
So exciting! =)
I tried most of
the new routes today, and had fun doing
so. Even went to the point of going
beyond my limit. My body is going to
ache tomorrow, especially my back and
arms. Oh well, that just means my
muscles are growing. Hahaha… ;)

I Live My Life For
You by
Firehouse
You know you're
everything to me and I could never see
The two of us apart
And you know I give myself to you and no
matter what you do
I promise you my heart
I've built my world around you and I
want you to know
I need you like I've never needed anyone
before
I live my life for you
I want to be by your side in everything
that you do
And if there's only one thing you can
believe is true
I live my life for you
I dedicate my life to you, you know that
I would die for you
But our love would last forever
And I will always be with you and there
is nothing we can't do
As long as we're together
I just can't live without you and I want
you to know
I need you like I've never needed anyone
before
I live my life for you
I want to be by your side in everything
that you do
And if there's only one thing you can
believe is true
I live my life for you
I've built my world around you and I
want you to know
I need you like I've never needed anyone
before
I live my life for you
I want to be by your side in everything
that you do
And if there's only one thing you can
believe is true
I live my life for you

Happy Birthday
Zonghao!
May your wishes
come true and hope that you’ll be
blessed with plenty of happiness.
Zonghao’s
Celebration
Met up with
Zonghao, Ronghui, Chin Seng, Zhijie,
Baoyan and Carol at Sakae Sushi at
Atrium today, to celebrate Zonghao’s
birthday. Sok Bee joined us slightly
later. Dinner was good and we had fun
joking around, catching up and of
course, celebrating Zonghao’s birthday.
The celebration
went on till after dinner. Initially we
had wanted to catch a show at The
Cathay. However, there wasn’t any
interesting show being screened at the
moment, thus we ended up
window-shopping. While the guys were
walking around, the gals secretly went
to Ben & Jerry’s and ordered a birthday
cake! I wasn’t aware of this till much
later, when all the arrangements had
been made.
We made our way
to Ben & Jerry’s, got our ‘reserved’
seats and was eventually served with the
birthday cake! It was an ice cream cake
(strawberry, chocolate and one more
flavour that I cannot identify) and it
was good! This time we really did a more
proper celebration with the cake and
singing the birthday song. And taking
lots of pictures of course~
Birthday
celebrations are fun!
Check out the photos from my gallery.

First Step Towards
a Goal
Today I finally took
the first step towards achieving a goal.
Wanted to do this last week but bad
weather kept me away. However today was
a good day to do it.
Today, I went to
book my Basic Theory Test.
Yes! The first
step towards getting a driving license
is to book this test. The next step is
to pass it and then book the Advance
test. Remember this date: 12th May 2008.
I’ll be taking my test at 8pm. Wish me
all the best on that day! Heehee…
I hope to be able
to get my license by the end of the
year. Had already decided that when I
get my driving license, I will go on a
cruise around the island at night, till
around maybe 4.00 a.m. or so. There’s a
family car for me to drive around, so
having a vehicle is to drive around is
not an issue. The challenge is getting
that license.
Wohoo! Driving
freedom, here I come! =)
Still, I prefer
to be driven around than drive around.
Guess I’m just lazy. Hehehe…
Getting a
Present
I met up with
Ronghui at Ang Mo Kio Hub. We were going
to shop for present. Zonghao’s birthday
is tomorrow, so we were going to get the
present today. Earlier on today, we had
already discussed on what to get him. It
was slightly hard to decide on what to
get him. But eventually, we settled for
an X-box 360 and a Wii game, since he
has both consoles.
Tomorrow I’ve to
go and wrap the present up. Looking
forward to the celebration!
7th April 2008
New Phone!
Wohoo! I will be getting a new mobile
phone soon! And it is the phone that I
have always wanted, which is the
Nokia 5310.

As you can see,
the phone is slim and stylish. The music
function is a just an added bonus. Other
than that, all other features are not
much different from the phones that I
have. For me, the reason that I like it
is that it is slim.
Wohoo! Can’t wait
for it to arrive! =)
I don’t know
exactly when though, as my sis is
helping me to get it.
Just stay tuned!

Men's
Foolishness on Mortality
Junliang was
sharing with me on his latest
inspiration. He had watched this show
called 'The Bucket List' in which two
guys who had been told they have one
year to live decided to write down a
list of stuffs to do and do it before
they 'kick the bucket'. Two questions
stuck with him after the show.
1) What have
you done to find joy in your life?
2) What have
you done to give joy to others?
I then
mentioned it to him that this is the
folly of everyone, which is we take our
mortality for granted. It is only when
we are aware that 'time is running out'
on us that we make the best use of the
time left.
That shouldn't
be the way. We should always do our best
to maximize the worth of every living
day. Time is given to us all, but it's
limited. Do what you want, do what you
like, because you'll never know when
your time is up. It may sound cliché to
you, but what have you done to make your
life better today than yesterday?
And have you
put in effort in doing what you wanted
to do?
And more
importantly, what have you done to make
life better for others?
We are not
alone in this world. There are people
around us. Everyone needs some joy in
their life. If you can contribute, then
don't hold yourself back. Because in
giving, you will get some joy in return.
;)
Note: The
two lead cast can be seen wearing
Timberland outfit in the show.
I Need to
Exercise More
I need to exercise more.
Today I met up with the SIM-ODAC guys to
play soccer at 'The Cage' in East Coast.
I felt tired very fast! It's sickening,
because I felt weak. I want to stop
feeling weak. I want to stop feeling
breathless after running up and down the
court a few times. And I want to score
some goals!!! Hahaha...
Time to
exercise. Starting with jogging!
