31.3! The Party To Be, At Butter
Factory!
To celebrate the end of March,
and welcome the month of April, I called out some
friends to attend a party at Butter Factory. We went
there early to avoid a long queue. But still we ended up
queuing. =\
The music in the club wasn't too
bad, and the club wasn't really packed to full-house.
After some rounds of drinking games, some photos and a
lot of laughter, we were ready to turn on the groove on
the dance floor.
I'll let the photos speak for the
fun moments.

More to come soon!

How Come...
Every now and then, two
questions about me will find it's way out of people's
minds and into my ears.
Question #1: How come you don't
have a girlfriend?
Question #2: How come you are
bald?
Let me address this one by one,
for the benefit of new friends and friends who are dying
to ask me these questions but either have forgotten
about it or are just too shy to say it.

For Question#1, the general
impression by others is that I am too picky. They see
that I have no lack of female companions who are single
and available. Yet it puzzles them as to why I don't
just 'pick one and settle down'. There is some truth in
their impression. I am kind of picky as to who my
partner will be. Let me share why.
I don't know where I stand in
the issue of love at first sight, for I have yet to
encounter that moment where the appearance of someone
takes my breath away and leaves my heart thumping fast.
I do know that the eyes can deceive and that there is
more to a person than just looks. Thus I follow my heart
in my search for the One.
My life experiences have made
my heart a little phobic, a little hardened and a lot
wiser. I no longer recklessly jump into relationships
just because I feel lonely, nor do I fall for the girl
that raise my interest up a notch. Yet the heart yearns
for it's missing half, and finds itself looking out for
that which will fulfill the emptiness. But how to
identify the One?
I came to realize that I take
some time to identify and consider a potential partner.
Like a fervent researcher on the brink of a great
discovery, I would be observing any potential partner
with both heart and mind. This may appear like I'm
trying to rationalize my choice thru critical analysis
and logical deduction. Yet Love itself is often
irrational and beyond logic. Hence my emotions will be
involved in the equation, and so I will also search my
feelings and see if it is meant to be.
In general, I would want to know
a lady first and then see how we develop from there.
This approach takes a bit of time. And I have taken my
time. The One is worth the wait. For her, I have to be
picky, because I am not going to settle down for someone
just because she is available. I want to be with
someone because we are meant to complete each other.
For Question#2, I have many ways
of answering that. In no particular order, I am bald
because:
- I use my brain so much that it
pushed all my hair out of my head to maximize space.
- With a shiny top, people will
always think that I'm bright.
- So that people can have a
reason to wear shades when I'm in the room.
- I'm told it's good to keep a
cool head at all times.
- To cut down on my bathing time.
- This way I can be aerodynamic
whenever I go jogging or do speed-climbing.
- I'm the Moon's stand-in on it's
off-days.
So there you have it. My answers
to two popular questions about me. =)

'Youth In Revolt' Synopsis
A teenage boy named Nick Twisp
meets the girl of his dreams while on a family vacation
and has to turn his life and the lives of all those
around him upside down in order to be with her.

'Youth In Revolt' Review
This movie is a nice coming of
age story that shows that one would do anything for love
and how love conquers all. Through-out the show you will
feel for the main character and relate and understand
his actions or why he did it. The portrayal of an
alter-ego of Nick shows that love can bring the best and
worst in us but in this show it also offers some comic
relief. Overall this is an enjoyable show. If you're
looking to reminisce the days of first love and feel
good about it, this is the show to watch.

Change And Attitude
Gilly and I were catching up
over msn chat and touched upon the topic of change and
attitude.
We both agreed that change is
constant in life. Even when one had decided that there
is nothing more that he or she wants from life, it
doesn't mean life would come to a standstill. Everything
is ever-changing. Almost nothing remains the same.
There are changes that are
beyond our control. These changes cause us to adapt to
it. A simple example would be if it starts to rain. Then
we are forced to make changes like bring an umbrella
along, take a longer walking route that ensures shelter,
change the timing of our appointment, amend our day
plans and so on. Such changes may not be something that
we want to do, but we have to do it because it rained.
Because a change was made beyond our control.
And there are changes that are
within a certain level of control. That includes our
attitude.
As the saying goes, the right
attitude goes a long way. But what constitutes the right
attitude?
Is it positivity?
Or perseverance where you never
say die?
Could it be having the resolve to
see things thru to the end?
Or being constructive towards
one's own weakness?
It seems that it is hard to
determine exactly what is the right attitude, because
there are endless scenarios and circumstances that call
for different kinds of attitude. As a general guideline,
the right attitude is a culmination of the above and
more, and is about doing things right and doing the
right things. Easy, right?
It sounds easy. But human nature
is such that for many, when faced with overwhelming odds
or pit against a daunting task or opponent, the spirits
may start to falter or the grounds would start to shake.
How can one prevent this from happening? How can one
strenghten's one's spirit, determination, resolve?
It may surprise you, but all it
takes is practice. Just like how you brush your teeth
every day, or how you get up at a certain time to go to
work, or how you cook your egg to the way you like it,
or how you walk from your home to the train station. All
it takes, for the right attitude to come about
naturally, is practice.
It starts from the time you wake
up. Wake up, tell yourself the day has started and it
will be great. Such simple statements, done daily, will
reinforce the attitude of positivity. Then when you tell
yourself you can handle the challenges that will come
your way, you steel your mind and body against the
anything that is thrown to you. Thereafter, when you say
that you will see things to the end, you strengthen your
perseverance. Thus, as I have illustrated, by making
statements and putting your belief in it and doing it
everyday, you've created the right attitude that, out of
practice, will come natural to you.
Sounds easy, right?

Same Story, Different Version
Recently it was reported in the
local newspapers that the
body of a naked woman was found in the pool of a
bungalow in Sentosa Cove.
As commonplace in cyberspace, the
story was repeatedly reported all over the world on
other websites.
Strangely, a totally different
version was reported.
Check out this different version and see if you can
spot the difference.
I know some times mistakes are
made in reporting news but the mistakes here really
leaves one... speechless.
Seek...
One of my favourite phrases is
'Seek and you shall find; Ask and you shall receive'.
I can't exactly remember how I
got this in my mind but it has gotten stuck in it since.
Well yesterday I told myself that
I am the uninspired seeking and desiring inspiration.
Soon after I got some inspiration
from two of my friends, Junliang and Kirsten.
Kirsten reminded me that the
amount of time that I have is the same as everyone else.
The difference is how I make use of it. She told me that
I just need to organize my time.
When she said that, it reminded
me of a phrase that I used to put on my email signature.
The phrase was mentioned by Gandalf in the Return Of The
King. He said, 'All you have to decide... is what to
do... with the time given to you'.
We have all the time in the
world. We just have to decide what to make do with it.
Junliang reminded me of my
capabilities and inspired me to set my priorities
straight. He sees the difficulties that I face and have
firm ideas on how I can overcome them, to attain the
potential success that I can am entitled to. It is
touching to have a friend who not only believes in you,
but is willing to push you towards the greater future.
For that I am deeply grateful.
I find it amazing that I didn't
have to look far and wide for inspirations. Even more
amazing is the fact that inspiration comes from some
time-out and simple chats.
It just goes to show that the
simple things in life can be, well, inspirational.
Again, many thanks to Junliang
and Kirsten for their time and inspirations. =)

I Am...
I am the uninspired seeking and

Curiosity
Today Sihui asked me if it's
wrong to be curious.
I told her that when we were
born, we didn't know everything there is to know about
this world. So it's natural to be curious.
Thus comes the question, is it
wrong to do something natural?
That's when it gets tricky.
You see, there are so many things
that can come about naturally. If you're angry, it's
natural to express it with hurling vulgarities, getting
violent and creating a scene. If you're happy, it's
natural to sing, smile, laugh, dance and be silly. If
you feel unloved, it's natural to go out and look for
love.
But what determines the thing
that is natural to do right and wrong?
Can you be wrong if you express
your anger in the form of actions, like slapping
someone?
Can you be wrong for laughing out
loud all of sudden because you just received a great
news?
Can you be wrong for hanging out
with other people when you feel unloved?
Who's to say what is right and
wrong about doing something natural?
The only answer to that is to do
it and see if you feel good or feel bad about it.
Because all of us are generally wired up differently,
what one think is right, the other think is wrong. It's
hard to agree, when both have agreed to disagree. Thus
it's better to experience it yourself, just to see what
the fuss is all about. Then you can decide for yourself
if it's good or bad, right or wrong.
Curiosity didn't kill the cat.
Reality did.

Climbing
With The TingTing
Today I headed down to Climb Asia
to join Tingting for some bouldering. Prior to my
arrival she told me that Climb Asia has a new big toy.
It made me curious as to what that is. Only one way to
find out.
And boy was it a big toy! They
installed a 'climbing treadmill' on the 2nd level of the
bouldering room. Right now I am wondering why I didn't
take a photo of the treadmill at all. Hmmm... I guess I
was too focused on the bouldering. =p However I didn't
try the climbing treadmill because it looked too
daunting. Maybe the next time I'm there I will give it a
go.
Anyway today's bouldering session
is about tackling the roof! It appears strange to many
onlookers yet familiar to climbers to be positioned
parallel to the ground. There are techniques to 'stick
on' the wall but one can't stay in that position
forever. Eventually, the climber will fall and land on
the safety and comfort of the mattress. Oh, this applies
to the bouldering gym only. One thing's for sure... the
muscles going to ache for the next few days!
Typically after climbing is
supper-ing. And one of best meal you can have after a
good climb is Maggi Goreng. And lucky for us, one place
that sells good Maggi Goreng is nearby. That place is
Shafina Cuisine.
Located near Mustaffa Centre,
Shafina Cuisine offers a variety of Indian Muslim
dishes. Strangely though, it does not sell Mutton Chop
or Mutton Soup. Still there a decent variety of food to
suit your taste. And you can even get fresh coconut
juice out of the fruit itself! But the one dish that I
would consistently order is the Maggi Goreng.
The Maggi Goreng here is
delightfully tasty to the last piece. The familiar taste
of the Maggi noodle is not lost in the frying, and the
sunny-side up egg that comes along with it complements
the dish well. For additional cost, you can have chicken
to go along with it. I'll take a photo of the dish next
time I'm there.
As always, Tingting eats slower
than me. But she says it's because my comical antics
slows her down. *cough*excuses*cough*....
And the camera comes out, the
clowning went around...

'Qi you ci
li! Ni kan!'

If you look
closely, you can see her blister...

Cleo Mag's Eligible Bachelor
Finals
Pricilla invited me to join her
to attend this event. Since I've never attended one
before, it was hard to pass it up.
There were a total of 50 eligible
bachelors who would be going on-stage, showcasing their
talents and charming and entertaining the ladies in the
audience. It was challenging to see who would stand out
amongst the rest. But that was left to the judges and
the screaming audience.
I encouraged Pricilla to go
closer to the stage to take photos of the bachelors.
After all, it's not often that the ladies here get to
see plenty of guys on-stage and up-close too.
Overall, the performance put up
was very entertaining. Aikhim asked me when I will be
taking part. Look-out for me in 2012.

Universal Studios Singapore Is
Now Open!
Wohoo!
Universal Studios
Singapore is now open. A new place to go crazy and have
fun. I'm pretty sure people will be running to Sentosa
now, especially to ride the awesome looking
roller-coasters. Yes, roller-coasters! Because there are
more than one ride available.
So far the feedback from first
day visitors have been very positive. And that there are
still a couple of rides that are not open yet. All in
good time.
Personally I won't be making my
way down any time soon because the place is sure to be
packed with lots and lots of curious Singaporeans. After
all, we have a penchant for being overly eager at trying
anything new, especially when it comes to entertainment.
Still, I'm looking forward to the
my first visit!
If you've visited Universal
Studios Singapore, share with me your experience and
tips in the comments box!

and Fairy Sun Li who lives by love, is drawn as moth to
flame by this deja vu-like infatuation. As Sun Li chases
after the Ronald Cheng, who just wants to get away from
this "rotten peach blossom", the Pandora's Box opens a
doorway into another time zone.

'Just Another Pandora's Box'
Review
If you're a fan of Hong Kong
slapstick comedy, or want a show where you can get to
see a lot of Hong Kong artistes, then catch this show.
As all such slapstick comedies
go, the acting by the artistes are often exaggerated.
Some artistes in the show didn't even act much as their
appearance were for a few seconds. On the plus side
there is a decent storyline with some unexpected twist,
and plenty of eye-candy to look out for.
If you're in need of a good laugh
after a rough day or rough week, then this show is the
One.

The First Step
Any plan for change, big or
small, begins with the first step.
Some people find the first step
difficult. Others do it like a walk in the park. Then
there are those who dream about it. And there are those
who go out and do it.
But it all begins with the first
step.
I often find myself loaded with
ideas for changes for the better. Some ideas are
practical, like opening a diner or writing a book.
Others take a big dose optimism and a whole lot of hope,
like opening a diner or writing a book. But all these
are just ideas that haven't seen me taking that first
step towards manifesting it. Or is having an idea the
first step?
Still, there are projects and
ideas that have seen me taking that first step. And the
satisfaction I felt in taking the first step is
indescribable.
Because, as the saying goes, the
first step leads to the next, and the next and so on
until finally, you achieve your goal.
Thus the lesson here is, don't
delay! Take the first step as soon as you have that idea
or plan for change. This will bring you closer to your
goals, and faster too.
Now I had this plan to set up my
'comic photo-studio' in my room. And today, I took the
first step towards doing that by re-arranging the
computers in my room. Now my table is neater and the
'studio' is more accessible. Awesome!

SkyGarden
of Pinnacle@Duxton
To kill boredom, I suggested to Wengfai and Zonghao to
go SkyGarden of Pinnacle@Duxton for some high-level
photography. They went along with the suggestion and so
after some preparations and travelling, we found
ourselves at the revolving gates to the SkyGarden.
Except that our entry was denied because our CEPAS card
wasn’t registered. Damn it.
I then suggested climbing over the gates to sneak in but
the two were against the idea. And so we had to hunt
around for the place to register our cards to enter the
SkyGarden. Eventually we found the machine to register
our card. It was at Block 1G. And the cost for entering
the place is $5.00.
Finally we were able to enter the SkyGarden.
The view of Singapore from such a
great height is fantastic and breath-taking.
There's so much to see from up
there. And it feels like being on top of the world,
looking down to see the world going by.
After the moment of awe, it was
time to start shooting with our cameras.

Movie Marathon!
It's been a while since I
experienced a movie marathon. But an invitation is too
tempting to pass up. Especially when the movie marathon
is being done in the comfort of a home.
The shows lined up for the
marathon were Ninja Assassin, The Blind Side and The
Lovely Bones.
'Ninja
Assassin' Synopsis
Raizo is one of the deadliest
assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a
child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the
Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is
considered a myth. Haunted by the execution of his
friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and
prepares to exact his revenge. In Berlin, Europol agent
Mika Coretti has stumbled upon a money trail linking
several political murders to an underground network of
untraceable assassins from the Far East. Mika digs into
top-secret agency files to learn the truth behind the
murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the
Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal
Takeshi to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from
her attackers and must now trust each other to survive
and bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.

'Ninja
Assassin' Review
If you're a fan of slasher
movies, then this is one that you will enjoy washing.
The slicing and dicing action sequences in this show are
so graphic and artistic till it became quite fun and
funny to watch.
For a slasher film, it has a
rather interesting storyline. The storyline has a
handful of twists and turns that made it quite a
rollercoaster ride just to watch it. With such a
storyline, the character development for most of the
characters became more evident and was well illustrated.
The build-up was well-paced and
led to a rather good climatic ending.
So if you're looking for a show
to watch at home with plenty of slash and dice action,
then this is the show for you. Similarly if you're a
major fan of Rain (or his abs).
'The
Blind Side' Synopsis
Based on the true story of
Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from
a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do
white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the
same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads
them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own.
Living in his new environment, the teen faces a
completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a
football player and student, Oher works hard and, with
the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an
All-American offensive left tackle.
'The
Blind Side' Review
It has been a while since I
watched a feel-good movie and this one was just timely.
The show illustrate the
generosity and indiscriminate kindness of humanity. It
shows that racial discrimination's place is out of the
window and into the bin. And it is the show that got
Sandra Bullock the Oscar award for Best Actress.
The show is well-paced so you
won't fall asleep watching it (unless you're watching it
at 1am in the morning). As the movie went on, it depicts
and evokes a plethora of emotions in a timely fashion,
for both the characters and the audience. You can almost
feel Sandra Bullock's heartache when she was told by
Michael Oher that he has never slept in a bed before.
And you can sense Michael's frustrations in standing out
in many ways when he was in school.
The only shortfall I feel about
the show is that it doesn't have a strong racial tension
moment that makes such shows memorable and which gives
the characters more insight and depth. Still, overall it
is a good movie to watch, especially if you're looking
for some feel-good vibes.
'The
Lovely Bones' Synopsis
Based on the best-selling novel
by Alice Sebold, "The Lovely Bones" is the story of a
14-year-old girl from suburban Pennsylvania who is
murdered by her neighbor. She tells the story from
Heaven, showing the lives of the people around her and
how they have changed all the while attempting to get
someone to find her lost body. She must weigh her desire
for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.
'The
Lovely Bones' Review
I didn't know Peter Jackson
directed this film until the show ended and the credits
roll. That being said, I must say he did a decent job at
bringing to film an out worldly story from a book. Even
though critics say he didn't follow the book to the dot.
But nobody's perfect.
Lovely Bones would most probably
be remembered for it's stunning visual treat against the
backdrop of a dark, sad story. The graphical
illustration of limbo almost makes you feel that it is
real and makes you want to be there. But then again,
it's just CGI.
The main character portrayed
intense emotions to the point that you feel the
character's tragic moments at one point and then
happiness and joy at the next point. While there is no
twist to the story, the ending was slightly unexpected
and almost abrupt to the point that you feel it doesn't
do justice to the main character's tragic ending.
Still, the whole idea is to
realize that evil lurks and strikes most unexpectedly
but in the end, good will triumphed over evil.
If you're looking for answers on
what comes after death, then probably this show is for
you.

Time
Lost...
Money lost can be earned.
Trust lost can be gained.
Energy lost can be recovered.
Time lost... Is gone forever.
The above was running in my head this week. I realized
that I am deeply involved in the habit of wasting time.
It wasn't something that I set out to do or
accomplished. It just happened.
There-in lies the problem. 'It just happened'. Indolence
has wedged it's presence deep into my daily life till I
didn't know it was there. And the excuse that I arrived
at for my time wasting habit is so common with so many
today. 'It just happened'.
With such revelation, is it too late for me?
Did I let it happen?
Every now and then we are reminded that we are
accountable for our own actions. So can one be
accountable for one's inactions?
Surely you can't be blame for doing nothing, can you?
Yet there are situations where you can be held
responsible for not taking actions. Somehow, there are
unwritten rules that tell us when doing nothing is
wrong. No one knows exactly what these rules are because
they're unwritten. And yet you are supposed to know what
they are. Pretty frustrating dilemma indeed.
But all these rules have one thing in common. You are in
the wrong for doing nothing if the situation threatens
the survival of your life or the life of others.
After all, we are but mortal beings. Our existence is
limited. Therefore our time is limited. The things that
we hold so dear have a limited existence as well. Yet we
choose to think that such things last forever. But it
doesn't. Nothing last forever.
The same goes for my time wasting
habit. It won't last forever. Because I have the ability
to change. I can change. I want to change. I want to be
more productive.
Activity keeps you busy,
Productivity gives you result.
I want results. Time lost is gone
forever. And nothing last forever.
Even cold November rain.
T.G.I.Fridays!

It's Friday. What better way to
spend it than to go to T.G.I.Fridays for dinner. Except
no advanced booking was made. This resulted in a wait of
up to 1.5hrs for a table of 5! WTF!
The 1.5hrs wait was experienced
mainly by Weng Fai, who arrived on time. Sorry Weng for
having to wait for that long.
Anyway the food was so-so,
nothing to shout about nor was it a gastronomical
delight. The price fits the portion served, which was
quite large. I drank Long Island Tea with my meal and
found the drink to be not 'strong' enough. Overall the
experience of going there wasn't worth repeating.
On the plus side, the good
company make up for it all.

Filming Is Fun
Today I joined the crew for the
last day of filming of a TV show. The call time to the
office was very early, around 7 in the morning. Which
meant I had to be up at 5.30 in the morning. Bummer. =\
But on the plus side filming is
always a fun though tiring experience. This is evident
in the following photos coming up.

And The Oscar Goes To...
Today was the day of the Academy
Awards. Often the award show itself is entertaining and
something to look forward to. But lately, the award
shows have lost it's fun. On the plus side, the winners
were surprising and gave a twist to the award show.
Well done 'Hurt Locker'! Great
show it was! Same goes for 'Up'. Great show too!
One thing that I like about the
Academy Awards is that it will always provide me with a
list of movies to watch. Hooray!
Earthquake. Again. And Again.
Another (yes another) earthquake
has struck,
this time in Turkey. Is Turkey part of Europe or
Asia?
If one considers Turkey as an
European country, then 3 continents have been affected
by the earthquakes. And if one considers Haiti to be
part of North America, then 4 continents have been
affected so far.
And if you consider the ice cube
Antarctica to be a non-continent or continent not prone
to earthquakes (must have earth for earthquakes to
occur), then... that's 4 out of 6 continents. That's
more than 50% of the continents in the world!
Left for Africa and Australia to
experience earthquake. Which is highly unlikely to
happen. But not impossible.
Only time will tell.
Juicy
Stories of Jack 'Tiger' Neo's Trysts
As expected, more stories of Jack
'Tiger' Neo's tryst has surfaced in the media.
And nothing is juicier then the
first time they had sex. This was followed up by the
reactions of the fans, the
decision of the mistress to never go back to Jack
and the revelation that Jack had tried to
woo another girl many years ago.
So... there ARE ingredients for a
movie based on the life story of Jack 'Tiger' Neo.
Really, Royston, what are you waiting for?
From the looks of it, I believe
more women will come forward to share their stories of
their tryst with Jack. I wonder if Jack will do us proud
by outnumbering Tiger Woods.
Only time will tell.
Personally, I pity Jack, I really
do. No doubt what he did was wrong. But at least he was
man enough to admit the mistake and is willing to make
amends for it. There are so many others who are doing
the same thing but getting away with it. Unfortunately
for him, as a well-known celebrity, his misdeeds are
magnified many times over.
I only hope that people will
still remember him for his contributions to the film
industry.
"The evil that men do lives after
them, and the good is oft interred in their bones..."

Lightning Thieves FTW (For The
Win)!
Libin and I teamed up to join a
tag-team speed-climbing competition that was held today.
We met for the first time last
weekend to get to know each other and to have a practice
session together. It was her first climb then and today
was her first climbing competition.
Thru combined effort and lots of
fun, our team called 'Lightning Thieves' managed to win
the third prize in the Mixed Open Team event. Hooray!

Now quick, congratulate us!
Hahaha... =)
Jack
'Tiger' Neo Unmasked!

Aside from the earthquakes, it
seems like another new trend has emerged: famous
personalities being sexposed for their sexual trysts
with mistresses. And it's happening all over the world
too.
In North America, Tiger Woods.
In Europe, John Terry.
Representing Asia, Jack Neo. Well
done Jack! You've made Singapore proud!
And to make it even more uniquely
Singapore, Jack was sexposed by his own mistress who
confronted him at his own home. There's even a twist to
the story.
The twist? The wife knew it all
along.
One can only expect juicier
details of the affair to emerge in the days to come. And
with such details, ingredients for another blockbuster
hit. Question is: will Jack Neo direct a film about his
love life or will someone else (Royston Tan please!) do
it?
One can only wait. And the new
movie might be called 'Women No Enough!'
In the meantime, many people are
wondering what is the girl trying to achieve?
Her moral standing is already
clear when she decided to be his mistress. Thus if she
did it to expose Jack's infidelity out of a moral
obligation, then that justification is flawed.
According to the news, Wendy
Chong (the mistress) did it because Jack had lied to her
and she was upset. The phrase 'Hell hath no fury like a
woman scorned' might be fitting here, but it was also
revealed that their affair had been rocky from the start
two years ago. Since she was scorned so many times, why
did she wait till now to expose him?
It appears that Wendy might want
to achieve something more than what she mentioned to the
media. But since she is speaking to the media, it's
better to appear a saint than a sinner. After all, no
one want to be known as someone bad. Almost everyone
wants good things to be written or heard about
themselves.
But like I mentioned earlier, her
moral standing is already clear when she decided to be
his mistress. I am inclined to believe Jack was really
tired of the constant demands, threats and whines of
this girl, hence the move to come clean about his affair
with his wife. Unfortunately, he didn't expect the girl
to get the media into it as well.
Still, good publicity or bad
publicity, it is still publicity. And Jack Neo is just a
man. People make mistakes. This man is no different. As
according to him,
they were both muddled and rash.
Personally I think they were just
horny as hell.

Earthquake. Again.
This time the earthquake has
struck Sumatra, which is a 'hot-spot' for such natural
disaster. Details of the tragedy can be read
here.
As far as I can remember, this is
the first time that earthquakes are occurring in rapid
successions globally. Is it a cause for alarm?
In Singapore, we are generally
spared the brunt of Nature's forces due to our
geographical location. Other than reading about natural
disasters that happening regionally and globally, we
have almost no idea how destructive such forces can be.
This is worrying because we can
get complacent and won't know how to react when such
tragic events befall us. I imagined the most common
reaction for a typical Singaporean is to resign to fate
when the natural disaster is happening. The only thing
going thru a typical Singaporean mind would be 'Die
liao ah! I'm going to die liao ah...! Nabey!!!'
(English translation: Oh dear! My time is up! Damn!).
And if such a Singaporean survive
the ordeal, the first thing running thru the mind would
be 'Heng ah! Never die! Wah...
How come I so suay? Kena such suay things??? Where's the
Gahmen???' (English translation: How
fortunate, I survived this disaster. Why must such
misfortune befall me? Where is the aid from the
Government?).
Singaporeans are so protected
from natural disasters that a Singaporean's ability to
survive one would appear to be handicapped. We just
won't know what to do when tragedy befall us. For some
time, we would be awed by the experience though. As
consolation, we would be able to 'appreciate' the
experience.
'Alice In
Wonderland' Synopsis
17-year-old Alice attends a party
at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be
proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society
types. She runs off, following the White Rabbit into a
hole and ends up in Wonderland, a place she visited in a
similar manner 10 years before, yet doesn't remember.
Wonderland was a peaceful kingdom until the Red Queen
overthrew her sister, the White Queen. The creatures of
Wonderland, such as the Cheshire Cat, Tweedledee and
Tweedledum and the March Hare, ready to revolt,
wait for Alice to help them. With the help of the White
Queen, the Mad Hatter and the Caterpillar, Alice starts
seeing flashbacks of her original visit, back when she
was seven.

'Alice In
Wonderland' Review
Personally I don't recall ever
reading the original story of Alice In Wonderland. But I
vaguely remember watching a film about it and I roughly
know the story. Thus in a way watching this film (which
was a 'follow-up' to the original story) was akin to
watching something new.
Tim Burton's films have always
been dramatic and animated, and this one is no
exception. The characters in the story really comes to
live in full technicolor splendor and with such life
that I was quite absorbed in the story and emerged
entertained.
However, the pace of the story is
a bit unnecessarily draggy at times. And the story left
out details unnecessarily too, to the point one can feel
lost in following the show. But, as with all Tim
Burton's film, the fair deal of summary in the end left
people with a general idea of the show.
If there was an Academy award for
Best Actor in a Zany Role, that honour would undoubtedly
go to Johnny Depp. He has the special ability of
bringing the best out of outworldly characters, and he
did it again this time as the Mad Hatter. He could also
win an award as Most Versatile Actor too. While the Mad
Hatter is very much a supporting role in the show, it
seemed more emphasis was given to this character than to
Alice. It made me wonder if this show was better called
'Alice And The Mad Hatter'.
Overall, this is quite an
entertaining show and is definitely worth catching,
especially if you are into stories of fantasies that are
full of life and colour.

Oh Deer...
Well this is something you don't
read or hear of every other day.
A wild deer wandering into the open. And in this
case,
getting knocked down by a vehicle.
I don't know who I should pity
more: the wild deer that got lost or the bewildered
Singaporean who saw a deer appearing suddenly out of
nowhere?
But the story revealed that there
is a small population wild deer in the nature reserves
of Singapore. I wonder what other creatures are being
hidden in the jungles. A tiger perhaps?
Monkey See, Monkey Do.
Have you ever heard of that
phrase 'monkey see, monkey do'?
It means someone copying another
person's actions, usually with the hope of reaping the
same benefits.
But if you copy blindly, then you
will set yourself up to go down in deep shit.
This
article illustrate the situation when it's better off
not copying others. In summary a lady tried to bribe
a traffic warden into letting her off when she saw
another traffic offender putting a packet of coffee onto
the warden's motorcycle. What she didn't knew was that
the other traffic offender was going around distributing
free sample of coffee. What she got in the end was a 3
weeks jail term in addition to the fine for the traffic
offense.
How stupid can you get?
It is well-known that Singapore
has a tough stance against bribery. If she was a
foreigner, it could be a cultural mistake on her part.
But she isn't. And worse, she did what she thought was
ok just because she saw someone else doing it.
Really, how stupid can you get?
Earthquake Struck Taiwan
Earthquake has struck again, and this time it's in
Taiwan. The magnitude of it is 6.4 on the Richter
scale.
So far South America and Asia has
been struck. Perhaps next will be North America?
It seems to me that Nature is
planning a reconstruction of the landscape. And this is
being done in the only way the Nature knows how: thru
earthquakes. Unfortunate for us then, that we are at the
mercy of it's immense power.
This just reminds me that life is
short and unpredictable. So have fun and enjoy life to
the fullest. Because you'll never know when you got to
go.
Spiritual Guru He Is. Just A
Man He Is.
In society there are always
people to look up to. Government leaders, educators,
artistes and so on. Including spiritual leaders.
And people tend to have certain
expectations and impressions of the people they look up
to. Thus if their idols behave out of norm, the reaction
can be nasty. But people forgot that those they look up
to, are still human.
This
article showed that the spiritual leader that is
revered around the world is still just a man. And the
man has needs, just like any other man. The only
difference is that his needs are fulfilled by a hot
actress who is probably the fantasy of many.
So if you have someone that you
look up to, just remember the most basic rule: he/she is
only human.

Happy
Birthday Laura! May your wishes come true and happiness
be with you, always! And may you get that pink studio
apartment sooner! =)
I met up with Laura for a photo
shooting spree. My first mistake was that I forgot to
tell her I was dressing up due to a last minute dinner
appointment, after telling her to dress down the day
before. So we looked like a mismatched pair walking
around Orchard. Sorry Laura....
Originally the plan was snapping
shots around town before ending up at the skygardens of
Pinnacle@Duxton. However, the weather was against us as
it.was.so.freaking.hot!!
Thus we ended up firstly doing
some shopping as she wanted to get a new camera bag.
Luck was on our side as the Crumper was having a sale.
There were a variety of bags to choose from. Eventually
she settled for one that could fit the camera nicely as
anything bigger will lead to her throwing more stuffs in
it.
We then tried to get into the
roof garden of Paragon but somehow that access has been
blocked and reserved by some upmarket spa. Really, the
spa should just let us go thru the garden since no one
else is. =\
We took a break at Coffee Club
with Muddy Mud Pie. That's when the snapping started.

We then proceeded to Marina
Mandarin where we stumbled upon something interesting...
A house of
soft-toys, or a rather big doll-house
Laura's
dolls have found new friends

Will put up more photos soon!
Stay tuned!

An
Intellectual Discourse
Once in a while I would indulge
in reading up materials that provide stimulants to my
intellect. I find such indulgence invigorating to the
mind, just like how jogging is invigorating to the body.
And the benefits often exceed the time and effort
invested.
Most recently, Chee Meng shared
with me an article that led to intense discussions
between people that we know of. The content revolves
around the subject of religion, and any discussion on
religion is bound to lead to a heated discussion.
I invite you to read the article
for it is rather interesting. A warning though: some may
not like what you will read. However, before one gets
lost in the myriad of issues raised or gets emotionally
affected by it, one should always remember that the
author was just expressing his views. And that the whole
article is about the author trying to find reason in an
unreasonable, personal and I would say tragic event.
You can read more about
the intellectual discourse here.

Funny Photo - No Way This Is
Real
You have to wonder when you look
at this photo:
Wonder how the hell did Ultraman
lose to this chick?
Especially in terms of size.
After all, if you knew Ultraman, he can go up to the
same size as the baddies, always.
So how come he lost to this
chick???
The photo tells it all.
Check it out
here and see
more funny photos too. Wicked!
Driest
Month. Ever.
It is official.
February was the driest month in Singapore. Ever.
It was so dry that Singaporeans
forgot what rain was.
It was so dry that there are
rumours that a foreign talent is going to be hired to do
the rain dance.
It was so dry that the army had
to be deployed to guard the reservoirs and prevent
people from siphoning water from the reservoirs.
That's how dry February was.
It's not too bad actually. My
clothes dry faster when I hang them out. And one can get
a good tan from all the sun.
Bottom-line... make good use of
the weather.
More Earthquakes
Besides Chile, an
Earthquake had also struck Argentina.
Seems like the Earth is striking
back. If the trend keeps up, the world will be in for
more Earthquakes in the months to come. Which is a
pretty scary thought.
I wonder what is shaking the
world up down there. Hmmm...
Wrapping
Up The Month Of Love
I shared the following with
someone, some time last month. I think it nicely sums up
the month of love.
Love is very much an ideal tat
has different meanings to different people. One doesn't
really fall in love with a person, but more with the
ideal of love tat person provides.
That is why we can fall in and out of love with
different people at different times of our lives.
And as we go thru pleasure and
pain, that ideal and perception changes. So does the
type of person who fall for.
